conjunctions in synastry are very intense, i like to describe them as a reflection. there's also an inherent magnetism when it comes to one another. when you have a conjunction, especially one with the sun, it's as if your partner is holding up a mirror to you, just by being themselves. this can be a bit hot and cold, because with conjunctions and the two placements being "the same", the individuals may see qualities they love about themselves in the other person - but also the qualities they don't like about themselves as well.

with conjunctions, there's also a huge chance for the partners to encourage one another's similar traits, which can also be for better or for worse (ie: if both partners are passive-aggressive cancer suns, this can be encouraged/aggravated by one another. on the other hand, if both are developed empathetic cancer suns, this is a harmonious combination in which both feel emotionally supported).

tendency to encourage common bad traits in one another

when it comes to conjunctions, the way they manifest heavily depends on:

1. whether the rest of the synastry is supportive/soft or harsh/difficult

2. whether the individuals are developed & self-aware of bad habits and negative traits (aka they're both mature and good communicators)

3. the state of the planets in the individual's natal charts

but overall, i'd say sun-sun conjunctions are great things to see in synastry. you have someone who innately understands you and is overall quite similar to you!

How do you think sun conjunct sun would work out with moon square moon in synastry? 💗

I think the conjunction between Suns can help ease the difficulties of the Moon square Moon out. Now, nothing is impossible of course and you have to consider the individual natal charts of the people involved, but both could easier understand that even in their similarities there are profound differences in how each other has to cater emotionally to the other. Both could easier find understanding and acceptance for the differences in emotional expression and operation. I personally find that Squares in Moons can also work out easier as expected, as an example I find that mutuable moons have an easier time understanding and accepting the other (again, because mutuable energy can actually ease the square) and fixed moons can also get along, at least I see it pretty often with Leo and Scorpio moons (Leo and Scorpio get along eeringly well in general asdfgh) and Scorpio and Aquarius Moons to an extent as well.  But Sun in conjunction can be a nice neutral ground to come back to whenever two people find themself at stake with the other, just don’t forget that there are differences to be taken care of and into consideration!

Generally I'd say that this combination of aspects brings a good mutual understanding of where a person is coming from, sun and mercury conjunction the other's suna nd mercury feels very much like knowing what the other is thinking without having to talk to them because both process and see their surroundings really similar. That being said, it can also help with the opposing Moons and actually brings more diversit into the mix, as both are not 'too similar' in that sense but also have place to emotionally grow and learn from the other
