Now. Imagine cracking your bones (back, wrists, knuckles, legs, watever) in front of the dca and them freaking out bc did you just break your own arm. why are you acting like it’s nothing should we be more concerned about your nonchalance or the fact you were able to break like every bone in your body.
now imagine doing it all the time just to freak them out after this incident muahaha

SUN
Honestly? He's more accustomed to the sound than one would think! Sometimes kids- or legal guardians- have habits! Though that's not to say he doesn't... flinch... especially if it's the more delicate areas... fingers and toes and necks, mostly
And if they're loud... he WILL scold you if you try to make the popping as aggressive as possible, he... does not appreciate it when you jerk your head to pop your neck
Oh and he will not tolerate you doing that stuff around the kids- not just the neck popping stuff, but generally if it makes the kids uncomfortable he will give you an ear full... like genuine upset
MOON
But moon on the other hand... he usually deals with sleeping children and that's it. So the odds of him already knowing are very low, assuming sun didn't fill him in on your mean habit
He doesn't outwardly freak out as much as sun but the first few times he does grip you to check you over. Nothings broken... how is that? He heard your... why are you grinning.
He only glances at you a few more times after you do that before simply not giving you a reaction. He's dealt with bratty kids and snotty parents. He's already got practice in that
Summary: You’re a forest ranger. Trees and mammals are your specialty. Mermaids in the ocean? Way outside your area of expertise. Good News: They like you. Bad News: They like you a lot
Mer! Sun x Plus Sized! Reader x Mer! Moon
Part One (Here!), Part Two ,Part Three
Enjoy the first of the wedding month stories! I’m guessing this is going to be around 3-4 parts. I’m a sucker for Sun and Moon and couldn’t leave the Mer AU alone. I hope everyone enjoys!

The best time to go to your beach is around twilight. It’s not technically your beach but your house is the closest one to the water for miles. And technically it’s a ranger station, not a house, but it feels like home after a year of working. You enjoy the calmness of the ocean, gulls screaming and diving overhead. The air smells like salt but you appreciate the burn now. Part of the job is that you have to patrol the waterfront at least once a week and you do that at twilight.
Fredrick Fitzgerald Beach and Forest. One of the most treasured pieces of nature in the country. Nicknamed ‘Pizza Beach’ after the restaurant chain started under the same family, the protected land is looked over by a special kind of warden. A cross between forest ranger, ocean rescue and PR personality, they have the job of living on site full time and making sure people leave the animals alone. And right now, that’s you.
There are other people of course, tour guides and rangers that help at the nature center. You wave at the groups on the hiking trails and listen to the animal facts that you’ve heard 100 times. What you do is different, more secluded. You’re on the other side of the ‘Do Not Cross’ sign and you take your job seriously.
The last few days have been quiet and you’re hoping that the weekend stays that way. Thunderstorms are going to start later in the evening and you’re hoping to be done by then. You had chased some kids off earlier, teenagers looking for ‘a cool place to hang’ and the weather would hopefully deter anyone else from sneaking in.
The water is starting to darken, deep blue going navy. You take a deep breathe, scanning the sand for any trash or people. There isn’t anything as far as the eye can see and you relax, smiling to yourself. Some people think that it’s lonely, being out here for weeks and sometimes months at a time. You enjoy it; you’d rather be with nature than people any day.
You start to hum, watching as the sun finally slips below the horizon. Now your favorite part of the night starts. There are a few moments of darkness before lights begin to flicker under the water. The underwater bioluminescence becomes visible to the naked eye; even after all this time it’s hard to believe that it’s real. The water is much, much deeper than it looks and there’s something in the water that promotes the creatures to glow. Scientists come to study sometimes and you stay out of their way, you’re more of a forest person.
Everything in the water looks normal and you watch the fish dart around, smiling as you stroll part of the beach. You jump as thunder rolls overhead and speed up, calves burning with trying to move quickly through sand. You don’t want to get poured on, walking up the path towards your cabin. The climb is steep and you’re panting by the end of it. The cliffs gives a great view of the water, large rocks creating an outcropping off shore. They jut high out of the water, the largest shaped like an arch. Lazy glowing turns into streaks, fish scattering; must be something bigger under there.
Another clap of thunder bellows and you take off, rain falling in waves. You swear to yourself; your boots had finally just dried out. It’s a struggle to get the cabin door open and you’re glad you know your way around; it’s hard to see anything with the rain and wind. You watch the trees sway for a bit before going to get changed. There’s nothing to do now but wait out the storm.
♥
It’s a couple days before you head back to the beach. Lightening hit one of the larger trees and you’ve spent the last couple days making sure none of the forest caught fire. It’s not ideal but the job can change quickly. After making sure the nature center was alright, you finally head down to the beach. It’s mid-day, much earlier than you would normally go but you’re tired and want to head back early.
The beach is a mess. Seaweed and branches still cover the sand, the waves calm as if nothing had happened. These are some dead smaller fish but nothing too large and you’re thankful for that. Without thinking you begin to clean things up, gathering the sticks closest to you. You half watch a diving gull, seeing it swoop low and then fly off towards the large rock outcrop.
The air leaves your lungs as a gasp, wood falling to the ground at your feet. You can feel your heart starting to pound faster, brain trying to catch up to your eyes. It’s hard to see from the beach but there’s something in the rocks. You curse at yourself for not having your binoculars on you and turn to the stairs, taking a deep breath. It’ll be easier to see up from the cliffs and you’ll be able to tell what it is. Hopefully.
You curse the stairs once you’re at the top, knees aching. You love your job but it’s not made for fat people, even if you’re damn good at it. The sun is hot on your skin and you place your hand over your eyes, squinting at the rocks. It’s a better angle but farther away and you think you see something in the rock arch. It looks like another rock? Or maybe a log? It’s gray and part of you wonders if it’s some kind of ship that’s gotten stuck. The thought quickly leaves as something dark rises out of the water and slams hard against the surface. The gulls scatter with loud screaming and you feel like your eyes are going to pop out of your head.
Some sort of animal is stuck. Maybe a sea lion? A baby whale? Or a dolphin? You go over the possibilities as you rush back to the cabin. There’s a small boat you take out sometimes, mostly to chase fishing boats off. It’s nothing huge but the engine works and it should get you to the rocks.
At least you hope so. Being on the water makes you nervous; you can swim just fine but the boat rocking makes you sick. You don’t think about any of this as you take it to the water, putting it into the back of your truck. There isn’t a direct ride down to the beach but it’s better than nothing.
It takes an hour before you’re in the water heading to the rocks. You made sure to bring as many tools as you could, along with a camera, an emergency phone and gloves. You have no idea what kind of animal that you’re dealing with but if this creature has been stuck since the storm, it’s going to be in rough shape.
The rocks loom high overhead, casting dark shadows on the water. The sun is just starting to sink, even if it’ll take a few more hours. You have a water bottle and resist the urge to drink; you want to see what you’re dealing with first. You turn the boat off about 20 feet away and try to come to terms with what you’re seeing.
The hole in the rocks is about as big as a basketball hoop backboard, the edges not completely smooth but close enough. It’s about two feet above water and something is stuck. Scales so navy they look black are scrapped against the stone, bits of blood smeared as well. It doesn’t move as you get closer, swinging yourself around to get a better look.
You think that you’re looking at its back half. This side of the rocks is shaded by higher formations and it’s a bit difficult to see clearly under the water. Something that you guess must be a tail is slumped into the water but you can’t make out the shape. You grab an oar and paddle closer, letting the waves move you mostly.
Something hits the bottom of the boat and you jump; it was a brush more than anything and of course there are fish out here. The next hit is harder and the boat sways. You place your oar in the water to try to turn and something yanks. You yell as the oar is ripped from your hand and disappears into the water.
A loud rumble fills the air and you watch, horrified and full of awe, as the creature in the rocks moves. The tail rises and you realize that it’s not a tail, it’s webbing. Tentacles shoot out, some grabbing onto the rocks and others into the water. You quickly grab the other oar and move backwards, barely missing the flailing tentacles. Gulls on the rocks take to the sky and the creature begins to shift again.
It doesn’t take long to realize that it’s not doing well, whatever it is. It only struggles for a moment before sagging once more, the tentacles barely holding on. They push against the rocks but it’s weak and the longer you look, the worse it gets. The scales that are out of the water look dull and are starting to crack; it really has been stuck here since the storm.
You know that this isn’t a normal fish. First off, it looks like either a squid or an octopus but both of those would be able to get out of a hole. Also, the hissing and growling coming from the other side of the rock is ominous. You’ve never heard anything like it. You want to head back but you can’t ignore the suffering in front of you. Taking a deep breath, you count to five before paddling to the other side. You ignore the way your hands shake and hope that whatever it is won’t kill you.
Immediately the hissing turns into snarling and you meet blood red eyes. You flinch, holding the oar across your chest like it’ll help you defend yourself. Sharp teeth snap at your and you can feel the waves from the tentacles behind the rock. You’re not in the line of fire and you take a moment to understand what you’re looking at.
A furious face is set on a head coverd in fins, gills fluttering around the neck. The strong torso is covered in navy scales and two arms are digging into the rockface. You look the creature over once and then twice, your eyes always going back up to its face. It looks pissed and like it wants to break you in half. Blood red eyes stare out from a gunmetal gray face and keeps you in it sights.
“Holy shit.” Your voice makes the snarling quiet down, almost like it’s waiting for you to say something. “You’re a mermaid?” You phrase it as a question and the creature, honest to fuck, rolls its mother fucking eyes at you.
At the same time you take it in, the creature looks you over. You’re not much to look at, between your sad little boat and ranger uniform. It eyes you for a little longer between settling back down and looking exhausted. It’s hands, covered in long claws, detangle from the rock and lay against the surface. That’s when you realize it’s pinned.
There’s a log wedged between the rocks, washed up from the storm. The creature is half wrapped around it, the log pushing hard against it’s chest and forcing it’s torso out of the water. One of it’s arms can touch the water but the other is pinned too high up, it’s shoulders pushed far back. It looks painful and you wince in sympathy. You get a snarl for your look, the creature sending you a glare.
It’s eyes close with what you guess is exhaustion, not deeming you a threat. You want to argue but don’t; no need to push your luck. It looks worse from the front, scales dull and patches missing. The rockface has be gauged deeply in the mers struggle to be free.
It’s beautiful. Navy fins on its head and arms lay low, curled up and dull. It’s torso is lighter, the color of sand in moonlight. It’s clearly built for hunting; it might be lean but it’s covered in muscles. Darker scales cover the torso like stars and you know that you can’t leave it here, even if it wants to kill you.
“Hey.” Your voice has the creature opening it’s eyes again but only halfway. It takes you a second to get that they’re squinting at you; the sun must be bothering them. You lick your lips, knowing that it’s crazy to be talking to something this big. “Do you uh, want me to help you?” You wince at how uncertain you sound and the creature looks even more unimpressed than before. You hear something hit the water and assume it’s a tentacle.
You hold up a length of rope and then gesture ot the log. Eyes flicker between rope, your face and log. Some sort of spark comes into its face and it’s claws curl into the rocks slowly. You put the rope down and grab the oar, slowly moving closer.
It’s hard to get a good judge of size because of how it’s stuck but you guess that it’s at least eight feet long, maybe closer to nine. It doesn’t move as you get closer, eyes locked on you. The log is wedged in two places, one part under the water and the other above. When you look down, the bottom half seems to be covered in rocks, probably from the struggling. The only real option is to loop the rope of the top and yank.
“I’m going to go for the top.” You talk and gesture as you move closer, trying to be transparent in your movements. “The bottom half looks too stuck.” You would be concerned by the lack of response if it wasn’t for the red pinned on your face. It takes a little bit to get the boat maneuvered just right and the scrapping of its claws gets louder. You do your best to ignore the impatience; you don’t want to end up in the water today. Not now that you know things like this exist.
There’s a splash in the other direction and you flinch hard, almost falling from where you’re standing. The creature snarls, sharp teeth flashing in the sun and you look over the water. Nothing breaches the surface again and you shake your arms, trying to get rid of the tension. As long as there isn’t another predator you should be alright.
You have to throw the rope a few times before it’s looped just right and you can feel the waves of judgment coming out of the mermaid. Mer creature? You’re not stupid enough to pretend this isn’t some sort of intelligent creature; you’ve been pinching yourself too much for it to be a dream. That doesn’t mean that you want it commenting on your physical abilities and ignore how embarrassed you’re getting. Finally, you get the rope secured and you tug it to make sure. You can sense the growing impatience behind you and vow silently to go faster. It’s already in rough shape and you don’t want it to suffer.
Sending one last silent plea inside your mind, you start the boat engine back up. The creature flinches inside the rock and the gentle rumblings turn more into a hiss. You glance over and it flashes it’s teeth with a ‘get on with it’ feeling. You don’t hesitate, afraid that you’re going to lose your nerve. You throw the engine into reserve and gun it back, the boat taking off as fast as it can.
The rope is pulled taught quickly and you jerk, almost going into the water. Creaky rumbles come from the creature and you want to swear when you realize it’s laughing at you. You ease the boat back forward before going in reverse again, your eyes locked on the log. The first time it didn’t move but the second it seemed to slip. Gritting your teeth you repeat the actions, the log slowly becoming free.
The creature must feel it moving because it begins to push, well as much as it can with it’s chest. It looks painful with the open wounds but it doesn’t care, eyes getting brighter as the log shifts. You give it one last tug and the log comes free, the creature letting out an ear-piercing shriek.
A few things happen at once. Your boat, tugging with all it’s might, flies back once the resistance is gone and you scramble to not turn over. The creature slides backwards into the hole, sliding into the shadow covered water. Lastly, bright red fins crest the water in front of you, darting behind the rock.
Your boat spins for an embarrassingly long time; your arms ache and it takes everything in you to prevent it from flipping. The bottom of the boat has a good couple inches of water but you’re upright. A miracle. The clicking and hissing sounds are all gone now and it’s just you and the gulls. You watch the water once your heart calms down, eyes darting around to see if you can spot the creature in the water.
You wait for ten minutes before slapping your cheeks and turning the boat back towards shore. Your mission was officially done and you need to lay down, maybe have a drink, maybe get high. There was a lot you have to think about and you don’t want to do it in the open water. Two pairs of eyes, one red and one blue, watch as you make your way back to shore and share a silent look. The water barely ripples as they sink below the waves, determined to pay you back in some way.

AU: The one where you have a compass on your body that leads you to your soulmate.
Relationship: Soulmates
Fandom: RWBY
Character: Sun
Your compass was always pointing west, it never really moved. One day you got all your saving together and got on an airship heading west. The trip was long and once you reached the ground you promised never to travel again. However, you knew that was a lie, as you picked up your bags you looked at your compass. It was finally moving, throwing your bags over your shoulder you headed out of the airport. Here your compass was always moving, you followed it every which way till you ended up bumping into someone.
“Sorry.” You looked at to see a boy with an open shirt, huge smile, and spiky blonde hair.
“You're my soulmate!” He picked you up hugging you tightly. As you glance at your compass you saw that it was pointing at the boy hugged you. You chuckled and hugged him back.

notes: gn human reader, pre game/virus, you work as a handler/assistant for the dca, youre not... really having a good time and sun picks up on that... kind of a prequel to the moon flufftober fic from day 16, reader has depression and admins modeling it off of his experience and hes not universal
word count: 2.7k
cws: none
The past few weeks had been a strain on you. You wouldn’t lie about that, not to yourself… but to those around you- at least those who thought to ask why one of the only human employees at the Pizzaplex looked so…
Depressed.
That was really the only word that could be used to describe the energy leaking off of you like a thick odor. Semi fresh clothing could only mask so much of the total despair radiating off of you. Your hair laid flat and disheveled, a silent thanks to whoever thought tied back hair went good in a career where children ran around with sticky hands- it didn’t hide all of the mess but it concealed it enough to grant you extra time to convince yourself to step into the shower. Wet wipes were a blessing even if they bore the face of the bear himself.
You were depressed. It showed no matter how hard you tried to mask it- and boy were you bad at keeping up the smiles as you slumped your arms against the desk you’ve stationed yourself at.
Sun may have possessed a plastic faceplate, but you nearly envied him for not having to hide anything. The way he bounced across the soft padded floor of the daycare made something hot burn in the back of your neck.
He made it look so easy.
He didn’t need your help.
And yet his head kept swiveling around on that hinged neck of his to swipe his milky white gaze across your hunched form as you tried to dart your tired eyes across the fractured gaggle of children. Small groups of friends here, some solo artists coloring away in their own quiet spaces.
Between the squeals of children and the constant music flowing around the daycare’s air, and the slowly building pressure in the back of your head… irritation quickly found itself mounting.
You swipe your eyes to the numbers on your watch… maybe you could sneak away for a few minutes during naptime under the guises of needing to use the bathroom. That was the original plan, at least. But not even five minutes later you found yourself pushing yourself up from the seat behind the desk.
The moment the wheeled chair began to scrape across the floor- seriously the thing was so ancient you weren’t even sure the wheels even turned anymore… no doubt in deep need of cleaning, clumped up with God know what but far out of reach from the Daycare Attendant… neither of them dared step behind the desk, ever…- Sun snapped his faceplate to your direction.
“Looking to join us for crafts, Friend?” Sun called out, as always his voice was light but loud. Not knife sharp but enough to cut through the chatter of the tiny children circling around him, eager to settle themselves in the short plastic tables set up.
Papers, child safe scissors, glue- glittered and normal, stickers and ribbons and anything a child could dream of when the words “its time for arts and crafts!” floated into the air. The animatronic hardly paid any mind to the children who’ve yet to settle themselves into chairs, the tiny hands tugging at the soft striped fabric of his pants. It shined and shimmered under the agonizingly bright lights in the daycare.
You tense your fingers against the top of the desk, leaning forward just slightly to keep yourself from toppling over.
When was the last time you had a decent night of sleep? Too long.
Exhaustion was forced down as you shook your head- feeling the effects of it for a moment. Like the back of your head had suddenly blown open in one loose and cold motion. It only lasted a moment- ceasing the second your head stilled. Sun seemed to droop… at least you think he did… before straightening back up.
His rays clicked to the side once. Twice.
“....No… I just need to go to the bathroom…” You muttered softly. None of the eyes of the kids settled on you, and you were grateful for that. Not that they’d ask for you to join them, to them you were just some random human sitting in the room. The animatronic was their sole interest and you weren’t all that bothered by it. Maybe that made you a bad employee for not being all that involved but you couldn’t bring yourself to care that much when the need to get away from all the light and noise was building.
“...You’ll be fine for a few minutes while I handle that?”
Technically you weren’t allowed to leave the attendant unattended.
Maybe the higher ups should have thought about that before hiring a fleshy worker that had the need to release their insides. Not even that, but the fact that there was no bathroom within the daycare itself- where there were at least a dozen kids at a given time, usually more- seemed like a huge oversight. You hook your thumb over your shoulder.
“I’ll just be across the hall, in and out,” You added when Sun didn’t immediately respond.
Even without pupils you could feel his stare burning into you, his rays knocking back into motion in a slow rotation around his faceplace.
Then suddenly-
They popped out far from his plate.
“Oh yes, yes of course! You go on and take as much time as you need, Sunshine!” His rays retracted deep into his head before settling back to their usual position. Stilled once more.
“...Right…”
Sunshine.
The back of your throat twitched, but you don’t make a comment on the name.
You swipe your card across the lock for the two giant wooden doors of the daycare, and slip into the wide space of the Pizzaplex.
It was always so overwhelming. Worse when there were visitors darting around every direction.
The doors are closed behind you as you hobble to one of the quieter bathrooms, tucked… further away than you’d like but you’d rather an empty bathroom than a busy one.
Muffled except for the soft music playing within the bathroom from the speakers. There really was nowhere in the Pizzaplex that was ever fully quiet, except maybe the daycare during naptime.
You really didn’t mean to stay hidden away in one of the bathroom stalls for long. Only just enough to ease the ache building in your head and the irritation sparking in your gut. Five minutes, maybe ten.
You lost track of time.
You had grossly underestimated how much time you had actually spent curled and hidden on the toilet. Lost track of how many times the same tune on the speakers looped, bleeding into one disgustingly long string of notes. A stiffness had settled into your bones and strained as you pulled your weight onto your feet. The material of the bathroom stall rattled and shook as you smashed the palm of your hand against the wall.
For a moment you dumbly wondered what the stall walls were even made of, before the heavy realization that you had left Sun stranded all day sunk low into your stomach.
You knew he could handle himself on his own. He’d been left on his own before you were assigned to him.
Selfishly, you were more concerned about whether or not his habit of being a stickler for rules would get you into trouble. Technically you had just skipped a good chunk of your shift.
The stall door opens and you step to the sinks… and God did your eyes always look so sunken in? Warm fingers swipe along the dark marks settled under your eyes. You looked sick and just about ready to collapse onto the sticky bathroom floor. Whoever had cleaned it last did a piss poor job, the bottoms of your work shoes peeling grossly off of the tile with each shift as you leaned closer to the mirror. Even your eyes looked dead.
Your pointer and thumb run along the thin skin, drawing them closer until they settle to a pinch on the bridge of your nose. A hum… an odd vibration as you forced yourself to at least make it through pick up.
A glance at your watch.
Maybe there wouldn't be late parents this time.
…
There always were.
And yet you still convinced yourself to drag your feet out of the bathroom- doing your best to ignore the pull the floor had on your legs. Already Sun had propped the door open to allow parents to check themselves in without needing to wait for you or the animatronic to open the door from the inside- it used to be that they’d knock and wait… but after several complaints the policy had changed… Neither you nor Sun much cared for the idea of leaving the giant false wooden doors open when there was an entire pack of kids running around. No matter how fast the animatronic could swivel their head around, there was always bound to be at least one child sneaky about to avoid his quick scans. For a thing made of bolts it really did sometimes look like he’d have a heart attack.
And just as he had when you first stood up from your desk, Sun snapped his faceplate to look at you the moment you came into view around the corner.
“Sunshine! I was beginning to get worried about you!”
He never stepped through the threshold of the daycare.
“None of the kids needed a bathroom break, right?”
You catch him off guard. Yellow rays click. It was a near constant habit, and you didn’t blame him. When your face was forced to remain in a wide smile you’d need to find another way to express yourself.
“...No… No, they didn’t,”
Softer than you were used to.
You only gave him a nod as you tried to squeeze past him to take your space back at your desk- that was the plan at least, before he stole your attention again.
“Sunshine,”
Again his voice remained soft and settled somewhere low in his chest cavity.
…you briefly wondered what his inner workings looked like but he continued on.
“Are you feeling alright? You were away for a while,”
The usual playfulness in his voice was wiped away. The two toned faceplate quickly turned to glance at the group of remaining children as they cleaned up their spaces. Only a handful remained now.
“I see you don’t need any help cleaning up, I think you’re little clean up song really worked,”
You look at the animatronic over your shoulder.
Wilted.
Sun’s pointed rays sunk about an inch inwards into his round head. You suck in your cheek.
Neither of you are given the chance to keep talking as another parent arrives to pick up their child- who immediately darted into their arms before Sun could even call for them. You tune out the child’s babbling and the chatter of the parent and slink back to your desk… one quick scan over the remaining children to help make you feel like you’re actually doing something productive.
The dull ache in your body still clung to your bones as you slumped back over the cool smooth top of the desk.
A crinkle…
Sun, or maybe one of the kids, had stacked a loose pile of candies to the side.
The Daycare Attendant briefly looked at you and pointed at the corners of his upturned mouth.
A half smile was all you could muster in return as you stuffed the candies into the top drawer- likely to be forgotten by tomorrow.
He divides his attention back between guardians and children- one by one seeing them off until finally it was just the two of you left within the daycare.
You were meant to clock out about ten minutes ago but you held your tongue as the last of the stragglers ushered their child away.
“I can handle the cleaning today, the little ones were good about picking up their messes this time-” Sun hummed as he remained standing by the door. Entire body still and facing out to the hall outside, his head swiveled towards you.
Once more the guilt of not doing much work today passed over you, and this time you couldn’t swallow it back down and bury it under the exhaustion plaguing you. Despite what outsiders might think, you really didn’t intend to sit back the entire day.
A soft whir compliments the shuffle of your feet as you round the corner of the desk.
Sun seemed to be able to read your thoughts before you could decide if it was worth trying to push yourself to lend a hand.
“You’ve been off lately,”
There was more that he wanted to say. Even without muscle you could hear the strain in his voice as he kept his words bitten between his fake plastic teeth. Unmoving, emotionless. But there was subdued concern laced within the wobbly joy and energy.
And he continued as you closed the distance between the two of you.
“I don’t know what’s going on, and you don’t look like you want to talk about it,”
You were close now, close enough to see his faint pupils… so he did have them, they just melted and blended in with the rest of his eyes. It looked… weird… it’d be better if they were just smooth white orbs. Vacant milky white met your tired stare.
Once more it felt like there was more that the animatronic desired to say, but he held his metaphorical tongue.
“...but I-” Sun’s hands twitched at his sides. “Me and Moon- We’re both here when you want to talk,”
You give him a side eye. His rays shrink under your stare.
“It’s my job to look after you, not the other way around,”
It sounded harsher than you intended. The words felt heavy as they grinded through your tense jaw.
“Your job is to tend to the children,” You added, hoping you made your tone sound soft enough to undo the tensing of their own shoulders.
Click. Whir. Rotate.
“...I know…”
Sun pinched the shiny fabric of his pants between his pointer and thumb. Rubbed.
“But that doesn’t mean I can’t tend to you too!” Sun’s voice picked back up. Lighter. A giggle followed it, soft and just barely contained. Slightly forced but you weren’t given much of a chance to dwell on it before he wrapped a hard plastic covered arm around your shoulders- tugging you into the warmth of his side. You could feel the faint whir and rumble of his insides under the plastic coverings… he wasn’t burning but the thrum inside sank right through your work clothes and pierced your muscles. It felt nice, actually. Like an oddly shaped massage chair- maybe should have been concerning but the point of his rays digging into your cheek before they pushed into his faceplate stole your attention. You’d bring up the warmth to someone who could actually take a look at him.
Sun’s large hand patted your upper back, and gently pushed you through the front doors of the daycare. Almost too forceful- a quick glance at your watch showed that the lights inside were to be shut off soon.
“I’m sure you wanna get home as soon as possible, I kept catching you looking at your watch,” Sun snickered, but he didn’t sound upset. “Moon’s going to make you lay down here if you stick around,”
You open your mouth, only to close it.
Sun waved wide in the air as his other hand rested on the handle of the door.
“Buh-bye!”
And with the rushed goodbye over with and the doors pulled shut you were left standing there in the dwindling energy of the Pizzaplex as those who remained wandered around aimlessly to find something to do in the last hour or so before closing.
The lights of the daycare had shut off by the time you made your way up the stairs to clock yourself out- it would have been easier to do it on the slow computer at the desk downstairs but it had completely slipped your mind.
Sun’s chatter always had that effect on you.
The animatronic’s warmth still lingered in your muscles as you stepped through the front doors of the building… and the feel of him against you would remain long after the heat died away.
"Admin didn't you just write this for iteard-" SHOOSH I love this prompt sm OOOUGH
That being said I don't think I'll write a moon or eclipse version for this, at least not for a while- idk we'll see!
Plot: You help Sun clean his hands up after a particularly messy day

Typically Sun liked keeping things… as neat as possible in the daycare… whether it be cleaning as he tended to the children or turning the clean up itself into a game for them. However… there were days where things were going to get messy whether he wanted them to be or not.
Today had ended up being one of those days, and it was rather… bad…
The children had wanted to paint- and Sun… that poor sweet animatronic, wanted to pull out everything. Glitter, glue, googly eyes… glitter glue. Everything, he even took out the stickers!
You were lucky to avoid a lot of the mess- the carnage as you had called it under your breath to Sun as he walked off to hand the last child in the Daycare to their parent.
Sun raises his arm up high in a wide wave as he watches the pair walk away from the Daycare and to the exit of the Pizzaplex. Once they’re far enough away he tugs the massive doors of the Daycare shut and spins on his heel. Now that he was away from the children his rays shrank into his head out of discomfort as his hands locked together and picked at the mess stuck between the creases of his fingers.
Even you were crawling on the inside at the thought, at least you had skin to stop things from getting in between your joints and bones… you couldn’t imagine what it felt like to have muck stuck deep in there.
“Are you having regrets?” You called out, trying to keep your tone light as you reached across the plastic tables scattered across the Daycare to gather up the various drawings left behind… you weren’t sure where Sun wanted him… surely collecting them together would make his job easier.
His rays spun about two rotations before halting and clicking into place.
A glue covered hand stiffly waves you off as he chuckles. “Oh course not Friend!” and he’s already skipping towards you- past you, actually, as he walks to a cabinet that’s too high up for a child to reach even with a stepping stool. He opens it, and takes out a bottle.
“What’s that?”
He darts towards you so you can get a look at the Fazbear branded bottle… Hand sanitizer…
“I use it to get sticky residue off after days like this!” Sun explains. His faceplate lowers to look at your arms. His neck snaps straight up and he nearly snatches the pile of drawings out of your arms and rifles through each piece… The slow rotation of his rays stutters for a moment each time he needs to carefully pull his fingers off of the paper.
“I’ll hang these up once I’m cleaned up!” Sun decides out loud. He walks to one of the plastic seats by a table and makes himself comfortable in an effortless display that he has more balance than you- you always seemed to fall out of the tiny chairs.
Sun puts the drawings to the sides as you follow him.
“You have… a little something right here,” You point to your own cheek and watch as Sun mimics you with his own face. “Glitter glue I think,”
“Oh!”
You take a spot in the seat next to him and try to fit your legs comfortably under the table… you fail, and instead keep your legs folded against your chest.
“You’ve got something too!” Sun suddenly exclaims as his hand approaches you- stopping in midair before continuing with the motion. He carefully pushes the tips of his fingers that were spared from the mess close to your ear.
“I don’t have something in my hair do I?”
Sun quickly whips his hand back and waves a small cloth in the air.
“No! You just had a little something I needed!” Sun chuckled.
“How do you keep doing that? You and Moon do that every other week…”
Sun pauses and thinks for a moment, bottle of hand sanitizer in his hand as he taps his fingers along the outside.
“Magicians never tell!”
You pout, and pull your legs closer as your nose scrunches from the smell of the sanitizer. It was scented, but the stench of the alcohol still cut through it and made itself known… dyed blue with raspberries to mix in with Freddy’s color scheme… actually you were almost surprised they didn’t try to make it pizza scented. With how committed they were with making everything Fazbear themed…
You’re pulled out of your thoughts as Sun’s soft frustrated grunts break the near silence… The cloth he had seemingly pulled out of nowhere was clinging to the glue on his hands- it was leaving some fuzz in patches, too.
Once more you find yourself cringing at the idea of what that must feel like, and in a moment of compassion- or perhaps pity- you reach your mostly nonsticky hands towards the cloth and take it from the animatronics hands.
“Here… It won’t stick to me as bad, I didn’t really participate in your activities today,” You quickly snagged the sanitizer and put a few drops onto the cloth… would it be better to put it on his hands outright?
The animatronic turns his faceplate towards you, but he doesn’t try to fight you on this. “If we’re lucky I won’t need to pick through the…. Bits between your fingers with something….” You pull his offered hand closer, and he busies the other with trying to pick the stickers off of his body.
You push the cloth into the back of his hand and begin scrubbing. It takes a little force, but eventually the once white cloth begins to pick up the colors of the glue and the resistance dies down with each movement. You pause for a moment… “This won’t ruin your paint, right? Are… you guys painted or is it just…”
You didn’t know what you were talking about but Sun understood. He nearly rips one of the stickers in half as he jumps to reassure you.
“No no- and thank goodness! I don’t like going down to maintenance… even if it’s just for a paint touch up!”
You can practically hear him sticking out his tongue in his voice.
“I’ve done this looooooooooads of times before, and there hasn’t been any problem yet!” Sun finishes pulling the sticker off and puts it with the others he managed to get off… there was still some residue of the glue left behind where they once were… scattered everywhere- his faceplate, his arms, and torso. Not one part of him seemed to be spared. You swear you saw one stuck somewhere on one of his rays but they keep rotating too fast for you to get a good look.
“If you say so,” You continue on with your work and finish with the back of his hand… you flip it over, and grab the hand with your other to keep it in place. You were too preoccupied keeping it in place to notice him jolting at your touch.
“Palms aren’t too bad…” You mutter under your breath and move to his fingers. You shift your hand once more and wrap it around his- slipping the tips of your fingers between the gaps of his own to spread them enough to get the cloth through them.
“I didn’t even know you could use hand sanitizer to get rid of glue and stuff… I always used rubbing alcohol…”
“It’s easier to keep on hand than rubbing alcohol, and the kids prefer the smell of them… they like collecting the different characters on the bottles!”
You pause… Of course the company would capitalize where they could, they probably had a design for each character, or at the very least they had one for each of the glamrocks.
“Are there any for you and Moon? I wouldn’t mind having one of those on hand… are they all scented with their own thing? I bet they made your oranges… or maybe lemons? What would Moon’s be? Blueberries?”
Sun’s fingers twitch.
“Lavender.” He says shortly.
You wrap the cloth around one of his fingers and work along it with your hand to relieve it of the glue- making sure to use the nail of your thumb to clean through the creases of each joint.
“I guess that makes sense… naptime and all…”
Sun perks back up, “Mhm! The kids don’t like the scent as much, but I think it’s quite nice!”
You pause.
“But you can’t smell? You don’t…” You trail off as Sun begins to laugh.
“No but I can imagine… I bet you smell nice,” He teased.
“Nah I smell like straight ass actually,” You grin as you wipe the last of his fingers clean and release him from your grasp.
“Language!” He hisses.
You only chuckle softly to yourself as you reach a finger towards the edges of one of his popped out rays and gently push it back to its standard position, or rather, Sun had put it back for you and let you feel like you were able to do something to him.
At least now you were able to see that you were wrong in thinking that there was a sticker slapped onto one of them.
The rest of his rays follow and sink back into his faceplate.
“Give me your other hand, I’ll knock that one out real quick for you!” You make a grabby hand for it, and without further scolding he lets you have at him.
“This one’s not as bad, so it won’t take as long hopefully…” You mumble and get right to work.
You were right.
It didn’t take long at all in order to finish cleaning up his hand… if anything you needed to apply more force behind your scrubbing in order to get the thicker areas off but in the end you were successful in scrubbing his hands clean.
You look at the cloth… once white it was now stained and smudged with pinks and blues and greens and every other color a five year old could get their hands on when humored by an overly excited animatronic.
And glitter… can’t forget the glitter now forever imbedded into the fabric. Cursed to remain until the last dying sun.
You pass it to Sun as you’re not quite sure what to do with it now. Did he want it back? Did he have another or was this his only option?
“Here,” You press it into his shiny hands- except he pushes it back to you.
His rays rotate slowly.
“Can you… get my face, too? I can’t see it, and you clean faster than I can- it’s lights off soon after all! I don’t want to keep you waiting from clocking out, and…” He trails off sheepishly as a quiet giggle resonates from his voicebox.
You blink.
“Oh!”
“I think I can knock that out real quick… just the face? You don’t need any help? No stickers on your back?” You asked. Sun swivels his head backwards and angles the plate downwards. His arms struggle backwards only to be stopped by the sockets.
They built him to be able to turn his head around in a full 360 degrees, but they don’t make his arms flexible enough to be able to reach and fold enough to pick anything off of his back efficiently…
“I’ll get that, too… Moon wouldn’t mind if I pull my phone out for light, right?”
Sun goes quiet for a long moment.
You’re about to repeat yourself before he finally speaks.
“He wouldn’t but only if you play some of your songs for him, he likes them,” Sun hummed and scooted away from the table so you can comfortably walk around him to get what you need done.
“Alright,” You grunt as you push yourself up to your feet- palms pressed to your knees- and shuffle towards the animatronic. “I’ll try to make this quick so neither of you get held back on… whatever it is you do when I’m not around,” You mutter as your fingers hook the bottom of Sun’s faceplate and angle it towards you. He leans right into the movement easily, letting you fully take the reins.
His plate felt warmer than you had expected, but you made no comment on it as you focused on keeping your hand steady so it didn’t slip across his face. It remained like this until the lights of the Daycare shut off…
Hello hi hey can I please request the DCA x Reader who gets overwhelmed easily and tends to shut down/lash out when it becomes too much?
DCA x reader who gets overwhelmed easily
I still need to check out help wanted 2... and help wanted 1...
Notes: gn reader, human reader, you work as an assistant and handler for the dca, sun moon and Eclipse are present, in eclipses part they're whole/au where sun and moon never split, they/them pronouns for Eclipse, short and written on puter, using my own experiences for this and I am not universal, pre virus moon
CWs: none? Maybe? If this needs to be edited let me know
SUN
i love him... you love him. lots of people love him. but unfortunately he can sometimes be a little overstimulating on some days- especially if youre already a little worked in from something else
he really does try to tone it done- even more so when he sees youre already having a rough time. but he feels so compelled to check in on you to make sure youre doing alright that he might just make it worse... he gives you space and lets you sit behind the desk while he handles the kids for the day
he does try to find a way for you to express your frustrations without lashing out at yourself or others- stress toys, breathing, venting in a more healthy manner, things like that. he even makes a more personal corner dedicated to you in the daycare so you have a space to hide away for a few minutes to recuperate before getting back to work... and you dont haaaave to rush- hes worked without a handler before and hes confident he can handle a day without you!
MOON
hes a lot more tolerable compared to his daytime counterpart- hes quieter, and doesnt move around as much... still moves of course but hes not bouncing all over the place! come lay down for a while with him during nap time- youre not going to miss anything and you look like you need a moment to reel yourself back in
sun is patient when you hit a breaking point but he tries to let you get that energy out before calming you... moon tries to quiet you as soon as possible. both for a need to help you but also to keep the children from being woken up- he takes you to the side and talks you through it
he focuses more so on checking on you quietly when hes out as well as picking up some extra work to take some of your load off your back- doing some extra cleaning around the daycare before naptime is over, setting things out for you and sun to use for the next activity, things like that
ECLIPSE
a balance of their counterparts- they let you feel your frustration but they work through it so you dont crash before your shift is over- as well as keeping it away from the children... sometimes seeing an adult in such a state can scare a kid and thats the last thing they want
headphones, warm drinks, have a spare blanket and settle down to the side for a few minutes and theyll be right back to you as soon as the kids are distracted enough for a few minutes-- you wont have all of their attention in that moment but theyre definitely trying to make sure youre okay between their work
not just on your bad days- in general- they will set things out and prepare as much as they can much like moon does so its less work for you. they dont really mind doing it + it gives them something to do before opening and your arrival
I promise it doesn't sound as bad as the prompt makes it sound like it is- alternate prompt! you can find the list here
plot: you and sun play house with the children in the daycare! all fun and games, no hurt feelings from fake dating here!
notes: reader is gn, they work in the daycare with the dca as an assistant of sorts, reader is human, pre security breach, admin STILL needs to look at help wanted 2, limited dialogue, reader and sun are not a couple but its implied sun has a crush on you, admin doesnt like how this one turned out compared to the other flufftober fics but it is what it is

It'd always been clear to you that Sun was passionate about his role in the daycare, from how he interacted with the children up close and how he spoke about the day spent long after the daycare closed for the night. It was especially clear now, as he roped you into this act- playing house, with you as the other parent; and you wouldn't lie, the animatronic was good at acting.
The remaining children in the daycare wanted to play house while waiting for their parents to pick them up, and of course, the attendant was more than ready to go along with it, roping you into it with him. So eager in fact, that he had basically jumped up out of the plastic seat he had been hunched in when someone suggested the game... It was rather cute in the moment, but now you were beginning to wonder if he had been waiting for something like this for a while.
He was dedicated, he had even taped a paper tie to his chest to further get into his role, choosing to fill the role of a lovable and caring- albeit a little dumb- father you remember seeing in cartoons when you were a child yourself... he was eager to fill in the role, his rays spinning and clicking around his head before snapping back into place.
He did everything that was associated with a loving couple, everything just short of kissing of course. In place of it he would beeline for you after loudly announcing he had returned home, swinging open a door only he could see, pulling his face as close as he could to yours before making a loud and exaggerated "mwah!"
He only broke character when a parent arrived to pick up their children, seeing them off before skipping right back over to the mess of props you had all gathered and pretended to be furniture. He settles himself in front of you, across from the short plastic table as you both pretended to have a dinner together with the remaining children... at least a handful. It didn't matter that he couldn't eat, or that the food was just plastic balls and blocks. He still lightly clacked them against his false teeth, making it a point to praise you for your work... just as he had been doing since the game started, and before.
You watched him as he continued the act, hyping you up in front of the kids as they joined in. "Absolutely divine cooking, Dear," as he tapped the "food" against his face plate. He only derailed his praises to stop one of the kids from chewing on one of the blocks, gently muttering something about their teeth and taking it away. He turned his attention back to you, gently drumming his fingers along the edge of the table as his barely visible pupils darted between you and the children. You sneak a glance at the clock beyond the daycare's glass, seeing that your shift was almost over. The animatronic in front of you seemed to be aware of the time as well. You were about to open your mouth to speak, only to hear the doors of the daycare open as a small group of parents came to pick up the handful of remaining children.
Your eyes flicked to Sun, who had already pushed himself up from the table and discarded his paper tie, ushering the children to the cubbies they left their shoes and other belongings before taking them to their parents. You remained in your seat, busying yourself with gathering the various toys splayed out on the table. You knew your back was going to hate you tomorrow for sitting in the plastic stools for so long... but the thought filed itself away as you glanced up at the kids as they told their parents about their afternoon- all of their faces plastered with smile.
A chill ran itself through your body as Sun's head suddenly spun around to face you, his body still facing towards the parents as they exited. He took a few steps backwards towards you, before in one motion spinning his body towards you. Not once did his head shift, seemingly locked in place by his neck. The only thing that seemed to silence your nerves was the bounce in his step that built up as he drew closer.
As soon as he was in speaking distance he wasted no time diving into talking about how much fun the game was, telling you how good your acting was. "You did so well! They oughta reopen the theatre, I'm sure they'd love you on the stage," He beamed. You, deciding to be polite, returned the favor and complimented him on his role as you tossed the plastic balls back to the pit. You'd miss how he wilted just a bit before bouncing right back and accepting your words.
You turned back to look at the attendant, offering a smile which earned a spin of his rays in response. The clicking of the mechanisms would be drowned out by the announcement of the Pizza Plex closing soon, signaling the end of your shift. You let the automated message play out before chucking the last of the toys in their place. "I guess that's my cue to leave," You turned back to the animatronic, vaguely taking note of his fixated gaze on the paper tie he had left on the plastic table.
"Maybe..." He began, before seeming to perk up, "We can play house again tomorrow," he suggested, rays clicking once to the left before snapping back to the right. You offered a slight smile, before dropping it. "I'm off tomorrow, actually," You mumbled.
Quiet, before a soft "Oh!", shuffling slightly to the side as you passed by. "Maybe the day after, or when you come back," He tried again. You offered another smile, before walking past him. You gave him one last look before exiting through the door. "I'd like that,"
