Hi I actually finished this design last year (November 8th) and am just now posting since it's mermay again heh..... I had watched so many deep sea videos on youtube to figure out how I wanted to make him. Thats where I learned that in darker parts of the ocean, you can be such a strong color of red and it makes you practically invisible to other sea creatures of that depth. I think it would be so funny for Y/N to be going deeper than ever, finds Eclipse, who thinks they can't see him, only for him to be the most visible thing within Y/N's scuba lights. Real hiding behind a pole, but you can still see my whole body vibe. (It's also what gets him super interested in Y/N)
You had come home a few minutes ago.
You tossed your jacket onto the small table near the door, kicked off your shoes, and threw your keys, which landed in the little bowl.
Work had been tedious all day today, plus you had been thinking about your beloved new roommate, whom you had gotten earlier this morning.
You hoped they were fine. I mean, they look rough and seem out of it, but they talked with you, so surely it can't be that bad.
Well, looking away from how burnt they looked, they seemed fine at least.
Knowing Sun and Moon, they always bounced back, but Eclipse was a new side you hadn't seen before or met before.
As you walked further into your home, you noticed the TV had been turned off and the blankets were neatly folded on the couch. With your brows furrowed, you walked past the couch and into your room, and saw them sitting there on the floor, at the foot of your bed.
They had cleaned your room, you noticed, along with themselves as much as they could at least.
"Hey." You spoke in a soft tone, a gentle smile on your lips, as you sat down next to them on the floor with a soft grunt. "How was your day?"
They didn't speak for a while, but you could hear the gears and fans quietly trotting on, as well as their exposed endo hand clicking and clanking as they did a movement with their fingers. It looked like they were counting.
"Hey," You softly tried again, your hand making contact with the hand that was still covered by their original plating. They startled, but your hand remained on theirs. They finally looked at you.
"Hello, Star." They whispered, voice hoarse. "We are… Good. We have been good."
You frowned a little. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, Star." Their tone was softer, careful yet loving.
"I see." You said with a tiny smile. "Is there a reason for your other hand to… Count?" You gently asked them, eyes landing on their hand that was still doing the movement.
Eclipse looked surprised, but looked at their hand and let out a glitch-like chuckle. "Moon was counting."
"Oh?"
"Yes. Moon was counting the minutes till you were home, but I forgot to stop him." They softly said.
"That's sweet… Well, im home now!" you said with a bit of a cheer, which made the everlasting grin on Eclipse's face plate get a little wider.
"You sure are, our star. Welcome home."
You smiled and moved to hug them tightly. "I missed you three a lot."
"We missed you, too, Star." You could feel arms wrap around you, careful and sweet like always.

Notes: gn reader, human reader, you work as an assistant and handler for the dca, sun moon and Eclipse are present, in eclipses part they're whole/au where sun and moon never split, they/them pronouns for Eclipse, short and written on puter, using my own experiences for this and I am not universal, pre virus moon

SUN
i love him... you love him. lots of people love him. but unfortunately he can sometimes be a little overstimulating on some days- especially if youre already a little worked in from something else
he really does try to tone it done- even more so when he sees youre already having a rough time. but he feels so compelled to check in on you to make sure youre doing alright that he might just make it worse... he gives you space and lets you sit behind the desk while he handles the kids for the day
he does try to find a way for you to express your frustrations without lashing out at yourself or others- stress toys, breathing, venting in a more healthy manner, things like that. he even makes a more personal corner dedicated to you in the daycare so you have a space to hide away for a few minutes to recuperate before getting back to work... and you dont haaaave to rush- hes worked without a handler before and hes confident he can handle a day without you!
MOON
hes a lot more tolerable compared to his daytime counterpart- hes quieter, and doesnt move around as much... still moves of course but hes not bouncing all over the place! come lay down for a while with him during nap time- youre not going to miss anything and you look like you need a moment to reel yourself back in
sun is patient when you hit a breaking point but he tries to let you get that energy out before calming you... moon tries to quiet you as soon as possible. both for a need to help you but also to keep the children from being woken up- he takes you to the side and talks you through it
he focuses more so on checking on you quietly when hes out as well as picking up some extra work to take some of your load off your back- doing some extra cleaning around the daycare before naptime is over, setting things out for you and sun to use for the next activity, things like that
ECLIPSE
a balance of their counterparts- they let you feel your frustration but they work through it so you dont crash before your shift is over- as well as keeping it away from the children... sometimes seeing an adult in such a state can scare a kid and thats the last thing they want
headphones, warm drinks, have a spare blanket and settle down to the side for a few minutes and theyll be right back to you as soon as the kids are distracted enough for a few minutes-- you wont have all of their attention in that moment but theyre definitely trying to make sure youre okay between their work
not just on your bad days- in general- they will set things out and prepare as much as they can much like moon does so its less work for you. they dont really mind doing it + it gives them something to do before opening and your arrival
