my favorite power couple
I love them
just finished the daily life of the immortal king (anime season 1 cause netflix doesn’t have season 2) and honestly i have mixed feelings about it
at first i really really liked it. i liked the start where they’re trying to get into a school and they’ve got different levels of power that determine where they go
i also liked the tropes like introverted powerful boy, popular and knows it but acts like she doesn’t girl, classmates at first not liking the boy but then he helps them or they go through something together and now they’re the best of friends
it kinda reminded me of saiki k and mp100 but i felt that the story itself was good enough that i didn’t realise until the end
the romance that develops was very cute but i felt like it went from 1-10 really slowly and then straight up to 100
although, i will admit it kind of makes sense because of wang ling’s amulet being taken off and suddenly all the emotions that were suppressed multiplied. however, i felt like it still didn’t make enough sense to me. i barely saw him blush for sun rong and then suddenly he’s destroying over 10000 words for her?
i think it was like a non linear storyline. the flashbacks make you understand everything but i felt like it was pushed in at the last minute. i understand that the narrator said wang ling and sun rong fell in love and became a couple at the end of the first episode but he wasn’t giving anything yknow?
normally it’s like black cat and golden retriever (is that the right trope? i can’t remember) but in this case to me it felt like nothingness and golden retriever
the blushes were cute at the start but then it didn’t develop to anything more until the end so i’m not a fan
it was like ‘blushblushblushblushblush’ for like 14 episodes and then ‘IM GONNA DESTROY THE WORLD FOR YOU’ in episode 15
also i never understood why wang ling’s eyes turned blue maybe i need to read the novel to understand but i don’t think it explained it in the anime
also the seeing into the future (was that what he was doing?) was cool during the kidnapping scene i liked that but there was another scene like that where he saw into the future and then changed what would happen it was kinda cool but i didn’t like it as much
but i did like the fact that he used his powers that do the same thing more than once its really frustrating to see heroes with powers they develop use once and then never again
i hated the end - i didn’t like that it just added the underworld randomly i felt like it didn’t make sense - the sun rong ancestor being the master of hell was nice but i also feel like it came out of nowhere. i was thinking the author couldn’t figure out how to fix a death so they just made something up. i didn’t like it
OVERALL i was a fan of the story at the beginning but i think as it went on it felt like too many different and weird things were being added just because they randomly remembered it and i think it just made it confusing
also the last scene really reminded me of mob’s explosion in mp100 and the sun rong reminded me of teruhashi crushing on saiki in saiki k - that’s why i mentioned that at the start
anyways the songs were great i loved that you had to watch the ending credits to understand parts of the last episode that was a nice touch
last thing i loved sun rong very much she was so strong and cool and pretty what a slay
now it’s time to was season 2 and see what i think
Bye
caaaaan you heaaaaaar saiki k toniiiiight
im serious watch this show it’s so funny
(it gets angsty though 😃 i think theres gonna be a season 2 next year)
I thought The Daily Life of The Immortal King was a comedy type of anime but nope, didn’t expect it be be sad lmao. It’s on Netflix btw
Haven’t really seen anyone talk about it
