Last night a fellow AmeriCorps NCCC member, Reid Huffman was killed in a hit and run. If you could all send out prayers or any form of respect in your own way, please do. Please pray for his family and his AmeriCorps team, Sun 6. Although I didn't know him that well, all of the Southwest region campus is in mourning today. This just shows how fast life gets really real.

Last day at the office

I wasn't even supposed to go to the office that day. I had to stop in and clean out some stuff I had and say my goodbyes to all my coworkers.

The office phone rang and it was for me. What? That was weird.

It was Peter from AmeriCorps. He was calling to give me my team assignments. I now knew that I was in the water unit. I believe it was water 5.

I didn't know they were giving team assignments now, ok.

Before I even left the office I had to get online and see what team that girl I met was on... What was it...

The Sun unit?

What did that mean? Was I ever going to see her? Meet her even? This was terrible. I liked the idea of her.

I drove home. Still weeks away from getting to know what it all meant.
