IF I COULD TAKE BACK WATCHING A SEASON OF ANYTHING IT WOULD BE LOVE ALARM SEASON 2
I would have much preferred if it ended at season 1.
WHILE I LOVE THE MESSAGE of like, waiting until your ready to show your feelings and the question of if you should follow your heart vs what love alarm is telling you, I did not like what they did to their characters.
Let me preface this with saying I am ALL for character development, which is why I was so FREAKING DISAPPOINTED. Was he a spoiled brat? Yes. Was he possessive? Absolutely. Was he rude and disrespectful of boundaries? Fuck yea. But that’s why I absolutely *needed* him to have some sort of character growth. While YES he eventually got that and ended up with Yuk-Jo, I would have preferred if he and Jojo were to come back together after maturing on their own. Instead?? We had Sun-Oh completely hung up on Jojo, he became a love sick puppy who was following Jojo everywhere.
I didn’t like Hye-Young, he was a complete s i m p. Never once did he say anything to Jojo until Sun-oh came into the picture. Everyone’s talking about how Sun-Oh stalked Jojo, but Hye-Young also stalked Jojo in s1. HE WAS A CREEP. What’s changed? Jojo likes him so now he’s not a creep anymore. Also, the side plot of his dad in prison, I’m sorry but what??? Why. Like, actually why. I don’t understand why that had any kind of relevance. Maybe I have to expect simp-ness in kdramas, its been awhile since I’ve actually seen one.
ACTUALLY, i take everything back.
Hye-Young and Sun-Oh should have ended up with each other.
ugh im so mad
i’m erasing s2 from my memory.
I will always think about how after all that time, Sun-oh kept loving her... that's so beautiful.
God Sun-oh is literally so obsessive and controlling. He only started liking JoJo after he learned Hye-yeong did and started dating her while knowing that his supposed best friend liked her. She breaks up with him and he's basically on the verge of saying she's not allowed to do that. Hye-yeong says that he's leaving the house and Sun-oh has another meltdown, acting like he's allowed to control what people do and don't do in his life.
"even after what she did to me!" She's allowed to break up with you! He had one line of "women aren't objects uwu" and can't seem to take his own words to heart. Now he's mad at Hye-yeong for daring to move out of the house and hes clearly too much of a coward to break up with his current gf, and he's still making demands from JoJo. Tf.
i'm rewatching love alarm and just realized about il-sik. he deserved so much better than being 'cheated' by jojo.
