Disrespectful Students
Why the hell do people think it's cool, hell even just, to be disrespectful towards teachers? I don't know if it's just my morally rancid classmates, or if it's a growing pandemic, but I would very much like to know why people think they deserve to be catered to?
In the beginning, I just assumed those people were horribly struggling to learn and that yeah, you have a right to ask the teacher for help. Good on you. Go get that A. That was until I started noticing these people were skipping classes just because, barely doing the assigned work, playing around in class, and get this – one of the more ballsy guys in the group decided to stop the prof mid-lecture, walk his ass next to the podium, and demand he go slower than he already was.
Okay but why stop the whole lecture you precious little bi–
As if that wasn't the icing on the cake, this mofo starts saying "this is what everybody's thinking" and I nearly burst out laughing. No way do we all, all twenty six of us, are that cavalier. Imagine my shock when I look around and every single one of them is nodding in agreement.
LIKE WHAT NONE OF Y'ALL ARE HERE HALF THE TIME SO WHY DO YOU CARE. LEAVE THE POOR OLD MAN ALONE.
Prof frowns, before pointing that out, and suggesting he come to his classes more regularly, when this turd muffin names me and claims I don't understand either.
And what do I do when the teacher glances at quiet ol' me perplexed and a little disappointed (because I was the only one who'd consistently come every class, at least 15 mins early and silently pay attention), and the turd muffin folds his arm and narrows his eyes as if to say you better agree if you don't want to lose your social standing within the rest of us?
"No, I actually understand how this works."
Sunday Tips:
Respect your professors and teachers. They may not be doing their job as well as they should sometimes, but they're still in charge of your grades. Don't bite the hand that feeds you darlings.
Nevermind the fact that they're human beings and deserve to be spoken to politely. If turd muffin just stayed for a moment after the lecture and asked the professor to slow down a bit, instead of disrupting and turning this into a whole ass confrontation, I'm pretty sure he'd have done something about it. Now what did he get after that? A roast session. A broken ego. A huge ass L.
Oh, and about my social standing amongst them? Never had one. He really tried to make me feel some type of way about people who don't even talk to me. The only thing I care about is that A.
