In the praise of slow Sunday and the blessing sound of Cicada, making mandu can be so meditative. It's  contemplative and soothing. Here is where the kitchen plays its part. Although the smoke makes a ready target for enemy artillery, no one walks in without first having a cup of hot cocoa or coffee, then the best food that the army can provide. Difficulties in obtaining sufficient rations are overcome by the Red Cross which provides cocoa, milk, and sugar in great quantities. And that’s how the cooks learn the great art of cooking under fire.
