LoZ: TotK - Sundelion Oddity
I just realized something.
I remember reading 2 different, contradictory, accounts of Sundelion flavor.
Lasli's grandma, Nanna, describes the Sunny Veggie Porridge as having a gentle aroma & flavor (at least the porridge did), but then a Yiga journal said that the Sundelions have a bitter taste.
Do ya'll think that means that when eaten raw, they're bitter, but when cooked they're mild & pleasant?
If so, then that means that the Yiga have just been shoving raw Sundelions into their mouths...
Which, to be fair, sounds about right from them...
They do seem the types who likely just ate grass as kids...
As someone mentioned, it's also possible that the flavor of the Sundelions changes depending on the morality of the person eating it.
So, if you're evil, it tastes like shit & if you're good, it's gentle & pleasant.
... Though, I'll be honest, I find the idea that these idiots are just dumb enough to not even try to cook the Sundelions very funny because it's just so in character.
Maybe we can split the difference. Bitter when raw, mild & pleasant when cooked, unless eaten by one with evil in their hearts. In those instances, the Sundelions not only remain bitter to the taste even when cooked properly, they are even more bitter than normal when raw.
I do sorta hc that Sundelions can be used in a similar way to vanilla though. I think that they'd have a mild, gentle, warming, delicate, fruity-sweet flavor when prepared correctly. And has a nicely floral, perfumey aroma.
