ghost type pokemon designs inspired by japanese myths
The sunekosuri is, at most, a minor inconvenience that might trip one up. They are a relatively recent yokai, though relatively popular due to their appearances in pop culture. These depictions are typically considered quite cute.
Sunekosuri, a yokai that makes you to trip over
Sunekosuri
Translation: " shin rubber"
Origin: Japan
Classification: Yokai, magical beast
Appearance: a small animal similar to a cat and or dog generally not easily seen on the dark stormy nights they appear
A sunekosuri loves nothing more than to find someone walking on a dark stormy night and nuzzle up against their legs affectionately weaving in between their legs as they walk causing difficulty walking sometimes even causing that person to stumble or even fall. its not a violent creature but bruises and bloody noses are not unknown.
the creature is also sopping wet from being in the rain 24/7 so its gonna make your pant legs/dress soaking wet too
there are other variations of this creature such as the sunekkorobashi "shin Toppler" or the sunekajiri "shin biter"
Fun Fact: the sunekosuri is most famously featured in Gegege No Kitarou.
huevember day 7: sunekosuri, aimeric
he’s going to trip you
So I made the mistake of looking up what a Sunekosuri was and turns out this is a Yokai that is essentially just a dog spirit that rubs up against your legs. His name literally means Shin-rubber. There is a whole slew of dog spirits in Japan that only want love and affection and I don’t think I can Handle that. This is the first in a list of new button designs I’ve been meaning to post here but they are So cute you have NO IDEA.
Best friends for Life.
