I keep see one theory on tiktok about Allison being the one to kill Castor.

And everytime I immediately think of Lee dying trying to keep Castor alive(maybe he chases Alison away from him or he's too focused on Castor and anger at his sister-) ,so focused he doesn't see the Giant until its too late.

Allison's actions indirectly cause her brother's death.

Just- i think so hard about Allison and her relationship with her siblings. I really hope they explore that tension in the show

“Kirke is a remarkable and indeed unforgettable figure to the reader, mostly for causing the magical (and strangely unmotivated) transformation of Odysseus’ comrades to pigs – but on the whole she is clearly less important for the plot than Kalypso. She shares with Kalypso the formula δεινὴ θεὸς αὐδήεσσα ‘dread goddess of human speech’ (10.136, cf. 12.449).¹⁵⁰

Kirke’s not very transparent name may imply her antiquity,¹⁵¹ as well as a foreign origin. It does not appear immediately relevant to the Odyssean plot or to the character. Κίρκη is probably derived from κίρκος, ‘falcon’, a word that occurs in Homer a few times.¹⁵² In mythology, Kirke is surrounded by significantly loaded names: the island Αἰαίη, her brother Αἰήτης, her niece Μήδεια, with whom she also has in common the practice of magic (the name is not mentioned in Homer) – and she is, of course, a daughter of Helios (Od. 12.3–4). All this implies Argonautic associations (cf. Od. 12.70)¹⁵³ and a connection with Sun-related mythology: the falcon may be seen as a solar symbol; in Egyptian iconography the Sun-god is represented as a falcon. It has been assumed that the name Kirke suggests a sort of goddess-falcon;¹⁵⁴ this semantic connection appears to have been strong enough to allow puns: on a Korinthian aryballos of the sixth century BC, Kirke is depicted along with the Sirens and Odysseus’ ship, over which hovers a bird with the appearance of a falcon – this may well be intended as a pun on Kirke’s name.¹⁵⁵

A different meaning is proposed in the pseudo-Plutarchian Vita Homeri (126 Kindstrand), where it is claimed (in neo-Platonic fashion) that Kirke is the name for the circular moving of everything in the universe (τὴν τοῦ παντὸς ἐγκύκλιον περιφοράν, ἣν Κίρκη προσαγορεύει). κίρκος can mean ‘circle’,¹⁵⁶ which could refer to a circle of reincarnations implied by the transformation of humans into animals by Kirke (but this idea was unknown to Greeks at the time of the Odyssey); it could also refer to the concept of conversion of forms and essences,¹⁵⁷ or more generally to the universe.¹⁵⁸ This meaning may be brought to mind by the famous archaic representation of Kirke on an Attic black-figure cup, where she is depicted nude, mixing her magic brew, surrounded by the half-metamorphosed companions of Odysseus.¹⁵⁹ This interpretation suits Kirke’s Odyssean context, but the absence of specific puns would make it hard for the audience. The same is true for the following possible allusion: κίρκος occurs in later literature as an alternative name for the north-northwest wind.¹⁶⁰ Wind plays an important part in Odysseus’ adventures, most strikingly because of Aiolos and his bag, but also during the hero’s voyage to the Underworld: Kirke predicts that Boreas, the north wind, will take him there (Od. 10.507); and she sends a wind behind Odysseus at 11.6–8 and again at 12.148–50.”

Happy one year to my current fic, TLOASA (AMS)!! I've come really far this year, both in terms of my writing problems and my real life struggles, and Michael has grown a whole lot too! He's still my favourite gremlin, no matter whether he's ten or eleven (or at some point, twelve!) and I've had such fun writing this fic.

A huge, huge thank you to everyone who's ever read, liked, commented on or bookmarked this fic. I love to check the stats, and there are 5,000 hits and almost 200 kudos, which is absolutely crazy and makes me grin like an idiot every time I see it. I smile at every like, read every bookmark message, stalk each person who comments just to get to know them a bit better, and it's still completely wild to me that we're almost 80,000 words in and nowhere near done!

Here's to a year of screaming at lovesick idiots and cackling over sibling drama. Long may it continue, and thank you all for the support. I couldn't have done it without you :D 🥂

Do you think that Karim and Janai will reconcile in s7?

What a good question! And something I've thought a bit about because of a fic I'm planning (in which Karim does not reconcile with Janai, but he loses hope after the battle and that has other results).

On the one hand, Karim was ready to kill Janai, he even told Kim'Dael to do it. That feels really hard to come back from for their relationship. It also proves that Karim really does think that there's no other way to save their people than eliminating his sister once and for all.

In the beginning he acts as though he doesn't want to turn against Janai, and he tries to let her live. But he steadily becomes more and more desperate until he's willing to kill his own sister. And for what? His people's future.

Except...

"-rightfully mine."

Karim might continue to say that he's doing it for his people, but I think that that's an excuse. He's afraid of change.

Of the uncertainty of his future.

I would have said; "No, he and Janai will not reconcile. He tried to have her killed, and then she went out and demolished his army without remorse. And rightfully so." But then... we get this line.

He was caught off guard, but I think his answer is true. I do think that he still loves his sister, on some level.

All of this is to say, I'm not sure. On the one hand, he could mirror Viren's political path and be "humbled and brought low" and that could show him how wrong he was. Or he could stand by his actions. At the time of my writing this, I am leaning towards it will be complicated.

In some ways, I think it would be even harder to have Karim change realistically than Viren. And that's because of one simple thing;

Karim hates humans, even after his sister falls in love with one.

But when Claudia falls for an elf, Viren holds no grudges against him.

This shows their priorities. Viren prioritizes family (admittedly often in a very twisted way) and Karim prioritizes tradition, even over his own family.

I could see Karim trying, but I doubt he will have a full reconciliation with Janai. He may be sorry, but I think he will be sorry for the wrong reasons. He may try to reach out to her, but I think she has every reason to not want to forgive him.

We were robbed of any mentions of Michael or Lee in Toa.

I know Apollo was struggling with memory issues, but I refuse to believe he didn't at least once think about all the kids he lost in the Titan War

He gave Michael the arrows!!! He interacted at least once to do so!!! We could've gotten so much cool angst from it.

But of course most of the focus was on his failed love lifes.

Which sucks, because one the biggest other times he was turned mortal was because he snapped after the death of his son. One son!!!

I think his grief over his other kids should've been bigger part of his character. Especially with not only human emotions, but teenage human emotions.

Like, iirc he says something about feeling sorry about helping kill Achilles? Which??? No! He killed your son!! Maybe even two of your sons!!(i believe at least Tenes is canonically his son in pjo, I'm not sure if pjoverse counts Troilus being son of Apollo or just Priam-) you should not feel bad!! Especially if him killing Troilus in your temple is the version that actually occurred in pjo. I'd stick to my choices on that one. If Achilles didn't want to die maybe don't assault and behead a god's son IN HIS TEMPLE. Not just that, but the god that you seen absolutely wreck an whole army over the daughter of one of his priests. How you think he'd react over his son(s)???

Anyway. Apollo being absolutely protective over his kids and Meg even more so cause of his emotions. Him struggling with grief over his kids. Maybe him remembering hearing their last prayers and hymns. Maybe those haunting him at night just-

Apollo grieving all over again over his lost children. Thinking about them, their mortal parents, what ever he could recall of them.
