i need to hear more about cleo/pearl/martyn

I’m assuming you mean v!sunflowerlings, since I don’t post about c!moonrotwood much

I LOVE SUNFLOWERLINGS !!! Their trust for each other is so clear in how they act (less so on Martyn’s part but considering his trauma and his lack of knowledge with the supernatural I can’t blame him) and the fact that both Martyn and Pearl kept Cleo’s secret is so <3333

I constantly replay that scene of Martyn saying if he cured Cleo she could “come back to us”, HE SPECIFIED *US*. He and Pearl missed Cleo so fucking bad and wanted her back 🥺🥺

Also Martyn keeping Cleo’s secret but not Apos shows how deeply he cares for Cleo. Of course he cares for Apo too and, as he explains to Cleo, the way Apo told him was a huge part, but at the end of the day he was willing to take Cleo’s secret to the grave but not Apos. (No hate to appletree, I ship them too. I call the quartet of sunflowerlings x Apo Secret Sunflowers)

I haven’t yet finished Pearls POV so I don’t have as much to say about pearltyns dynamic in VSMP, but they were both loyal to the town till the end and protected each other on multiple occasions. Also moonrot has *gestures at them vaguely* all that. And then zombiewood worked together to figure out if vampires were real (which Cleo already knew but didn’t share that for safety reasons), and they have the reuniting and running into each others arms scene, and then all their moments in the vampires vs humans event (the “you may know the code but it’s not for you” clip is everything 2 me).

OH ANOTHER SUNFLOWERLINGS SCENE I LOVE is Pearl and Cleo not being happy about people barging into their house and Martyn pauses and asks for permission first and Cleo immediately welcomes him in <3 he was the first one to ask and was instantly allowed inside. They’re so cute guys

Anyway I adore them so fucking much sunflowerlings world domination !!!

"What are you doing?"

"What's it look like I'm doing? I'm trying to sleep here, so if you wouldn't mind—"

"No, you idiot!" Cleo flicks the back of his stupid head with a huff. "I meant what the hell are you doing in our house?"

"Well, excuse me!" He defends, rubbing his head (even though she's certain it doesn't even hurt) and turning around on the sofa to shoot her a half-hearted glare. "Now that I believe in vampires and all—"

"Oh, for the love of—"

"Isn't it better if we're all together, anyway? That way none of us can be getting nabbed in the middle of the night and dragged off to be chew toys for some creature—"

"You're being ridiculous. There's—"

"Cleo? Wha's goin' on?"

They whirl around to face Pearl standing in the doorway, rubbing her eyes with a yawn on her lips. She blinks a few times before realizing they have a guest, and then she just laughs.

"It's a bit late for a casual visit, don't ya think?" Despite her words, she walks around the other side of the sofa and plops herself down next to him, closing her eyes again almost immediately. Cleo merely sighs, dropping her head into her hands.

"Okay, both of you are being ridiculous now—Martyn, you've a perfectly fine house with so many warning signs a vampire would sooner bathe in holy water than try to get inside without an invitation. And Pearl, you've got a much nicer bed right back there!"

In lieu of answering any of her very reasonable points, Pearl raises a hand and blinks up at her sleepily. "Oooorrrr you could join us and get some sleep, Cleo."

She stares for a minute, at Pearl's hand extended towards her. But Martyn has already laid his head back down with an uncaring yawn, using his own arm as a pillow while one leg dangles over the side of the sofa. Oscar is curled up on the top, purring away, and it really is late and she has too much work to do tomorrow to be wasting energy on fighting whatever nonsense these two decide to come up with in the middle of the night anyway.

They sigh, walking around the other side and sitting down as well. Pearl giggles and pulls her to lay down until her head is resting against her chest, with Martyn snoring behind both of them.

They'll definitely all regret it in the morning (and Cleo will be sure to remind them it was their dumb idea to fall asleep tangled up on the sofa) but for now, she's far too tired and far too comfortable to rightly give a damn.
