[Image ID: two versions of a digital painting of Blaze the Cat. They are based on a Trollhunters screenshot, but replacing Jim with an AU Blaze design.
Blaze wears armor similar to Percival's in Sonic and the Black Knight: small, rounded shoulder pauldrons, metal gloves with flared cuffs, and a metal chest plate on her torso with armor pieces hanging from the hips, resembling a tailcoat. Inset in the chest plate, above where her heart would be, is a gold amulet housing a shard of a red gem.
Along with the armor, Blaze wears her usual gold necklace and red bindi. Each gauntlet has a simple curling design on the top, with a red jewel inset in the center, matching her bindi. Under the armor she wears a white bodysuit, covering her legs and arms.
In the first version, Blaze is in her normal form, with lavender fur and yellow eyes. Her hair is not tied up but falling loose down her back, and violet bangs partly cover her bindi. Her armor is a silver-purple color.
In the second version, Blaze is in her Burning form. Her fur is pink, and her armor and blade are both gold rather than silver. A gold circlet pulls her hair back - not that it's needed, as both her hair and the tip of her tail have turned to scarlet flame. Her eyes, too, have the appearance of fire.
In both versions, Blaze stands against a stormy background, looming over the viewer. In her right hand she holds a flame. In her left, she holds her sword from Sonic and the Black Knight, pointed down at someone unseen. Lightning flashes behind her as she looks down at her opponent with an unreadable expression, eyes glowing gold. /end ID]
For the glory of Solaris, Sunlight is mine to command.
last Friday I had this all prepped and ready to post, wrote a whole long explanation of this AU's lore, and then the page reloaded and I lost the entire thing--or I thought I did, only for it to turn out the draft just saved to my main instead of here. so. see below for the referenced screenshot, an explanation of the AU, and some concept sketches.

Ouroboros,what does it mean?
I’ve seen a thread floating around; about the ouroboros symbol seen on the jackets of the sun hunters and Quinlan. So, what does this mean?
(I’m writing this with codeine in my systems. So, like, maybe don’t expect it to be as professional as I normally do this kind of stuff.. I’m in pain and kind of sick)
(this is straight from my copy of the art book. There’s no explanation anywhere as to why this is the symbol used. Also, Vaun shot. )
Its a interesting little symbol and one seen pretty much everywhere. It originates from Egypt and spread from there. It was seen in a funerary text which represented Mehen, a snake like god who protects Ra through his journey through the underworld. He’s seen as a god of the beginning and the end of time. It appears as other serpent deities meaning the formless disorder that surrounds the orderly world and is involved in that world’s periodic renewal.
From there it would appear in Roman times, seen as magical elements and other serpent like creatures. As seen below as a magical gem.
In Greek, its literally translates into “eat tail”. “Oura” meaning tail and “boros” eating.
There’s a lot of connections to alchemy. But honestly, I don’t think I can fully explain it. It still represented the same ideals of birth and death. Also, connected to the philosopher’s stone. Again, its confusing a all kinds of weird. So, I’m skipping to the next place it shows up! It was also a symbol for mercury.
In Norse mythology it was a child of Loki. Being described as a very large serpent. His name was Jormungandr. He was so big he encircles the world biting his tail. As far as I know, there’s not life and death type meaning here.
It shows up in Indian culture being described at the kundalini energy. I don’t know much about it in this sense. And I’m not about to butcher anything. I know it has to do with the samsara cycle. I don’t know enough to say much about it.
So, what does this have to do with The Strain and why does the symbol appear on the show on clothing, episode titles and in a way the partnership’s symbol? Well its kind of a whole show about life and death. The strigoi walk a fine line of being killed and then reborn. The hunters and Quinlan both have a duty of keeping the status quo of things. They’re keeping the cycle between life and death under control. The partnership does this as well… Its a never ending circle of giving birth to new babies to feed to the new strigoi. The cycle of the worms killing their host and giving life a new. The Master’s never ending cycle to kill things and bring life a new. Like we see with blowing up everything/killing people and making a new life for himself and the strigois. In the episode call Ouroboros, we see a never ending battle with Eichorst and Setrakian, a battle between good and evil. Although its The end of both Eichorst and Setrakian, the battle and cycle of life and death, good vs evil will repeat itself with another person.
Please leave me your thoughts on its connections to our beloved series. I hope you guys enjoyed this and learned a bit about it more.
Oh nooo..... Its baby Sunhunter and the only nightwing that ever realized he was a mindreader.... Mastermind...
MASTERMIND GET AWAY FROM THE CHILDDDDD
Fr though Mastermind never told anyone about Sunhunters abilities, and he even helped him learn about them! Of course, for Mastermind it was mostly for science, testing the limits of the power, together they learned how Sunhunter could block thoughts and silence everything, they learned how far the mindreading could reach and tracked if it changed as Sunhunter practiced and got older!
In the end it was good for him, he learned to use his powers in a way Moon didn't. Plus, when he lost his leg, Mastermind made him a prosthetic!
Amd Mastermind... sure, he sucks, I think can all agree on that- but I think he also desperately wanted someone that understood him, hence why he was so excited that Starflight was his son! And loved scrolls! So a mindreader? This kid COULD understand him
Sunhunter doodles in class!
