But you, too, deserve the sunlight that hesitates before it falls. This life is not worth living at all if we settle for anything less and I confess I am oftentimes too afraid to step out of the shade and into the sun. But I am not the only one who holds her breath as if she could drown out regret and swallow down her despair. I am extending my hands to pull you up for air. We have been drowning for so, so long. It is time I right my wrongs and carry you forward with me, come ruin or poetry we will walk on together into the sun that shines forever.
