UGH I do not want to speak on it (mostly because so many other people have addressed it with far more grace than I could ever manage) but just to make sure my stance is public and clear: if you use ai in your fics, sincerely and from the bottom of my heart, you are the absolute worst, and I have zero respect for you.

I could make a long post about it, but again. people have stated it much better than I would :)

with that being said, I don't support witch hunting users either, and I hope that's not the path the fandom goes down.

and if for some god forsaken reason any of you think I use ai, uh. could you see a robot making as many typos as I do? I use so many em-dashes that I think it's looped all the way back into being blatantly human again.

It's my birthday tomorrow.

I'm turning seventeen. Another year more than Mari ever got to be. One more year of childhood, technically, though my year behind means I'll be eighteen for the whole of my senior year.

I've been actually busy this summer? It kind of crept up on me. Between band meets, Pokémon with Hana and Tango, walking Raffie, getting back into swimming, having Basil staying nearby as his parents got a hotel near the nice hospital here and Basil's new baby sister there's been a lot, and I think that's why I haven't been here much.

Oh yeah, Basil's got a baby sister now. Her name's Willow, after her and Basil's dad, William. She's not really very interesting right now as all she does is sleep, eat and cry, but I guess she's a bit cute.

Basil still doesn't know what's happening with the move or not. Talks about it got pushed aside as his parents fawn over Willow. He's actually been sleeping at our place again for the past few days to escape the crying.

Tomorrow, Kel, Hero and Hector are coming up. Aubrey's busy but she's sending something in care of Kel. The band kids clubbed together to get me a present, which I'm waiting to unwrap, Hana got me some Pokémon stickers earlier, and Tango gave me a card that said Happy 11th Birthday but he turned the second 1 into a 7.

Last birthday was hard for me so I hope this time is maybe a bit easier.

Imagine holding Aegon's hand under the dining table because he's shaking after not drinking for days. He can't stop bouncing his leg, his head hurts, and his palms are sweaty and clammy. Yet, you keep your hands intertwined despite his embarrassment. You would only let go to rub soothing circles over his thigh to stop him from fidgeting so much.

You would tell him he can have a glass of wine if he really needs it, but he would always shake his head no.

"I don't need it anymore," he whispers, leaning closer to you while the rest of his family talk amongst themselves.

His eye bags are more prominent. His eyes look tired but hold a seriousness to them. As his wife, it hurts you to see him suffer from the withdrawals. It was obvious he was trying so hard, trying because it makes you happy. You don't know how much happiness you bring him; not even alcohol can compare. It was a cheap, fleeting high that he would rather sacrifice than lose you because of his foolishness.

"I love you," you whisper back as you would always remind him every day, every minute if you could.

He smiles softly, raising your clasped hands to kiss your knuckles and your two rings. One that he gifted to you when he promised to marry you, and then the larger ring he gave you the day you were married.

"And you are my happiness," he replies, looking at you like no one else exists, "one that I can't live without."

It deeply, DEEPLY annoys me that in Masters of Time when we see Vlad and Maddie together he's completely shut down on ghost investigation to the point of banning it in the home. It makes no sense! Why would he be so against it!

Vlad is a ghost scientist and investigator in his own right before the accident in canon and while his abilities and motives have changed in the canon timeline, he's still a scientist! (My personal belief is his studies are in biology and eventually anthropology, hence the cloning and his investigations over ghost powers in AGIT - Jack's the inventor and Maddie's the theoretical physicist/muscle who makes the inventions happen).

Maybe if Jack had stayed in the field then maybe, maybe, I could see him being overly possessive and try and keep them apart but it just makes NO sense at all. We've seen Vlad thrives on rubbing his successes in people's faces - he'd be much more likely to try and lord the entire field just so he could push Jack into the dirt and prove his superiority. He doesn't have his superfocus'd obsession as a ghost at this rate here either - it's all weird! Also Maddie hiding it from him feels really out of character for her as well but whatever

(honestly it's strange Jack doesn't get a ghost form here as well, but I can accept his transformation was different)

I finally got tickets to see Twisters on Thursday which is a little whatever because I live in tornado alley so I could really just sit on my porch and watch Twisters for free
