She’s been busy all day and hardly said a word to him, but she does invite him back to her room late into the night once things have settled down. There is no grand sweeping gesture as she lets him in, no loud exclamation or over the top celebration - not this time. But there is a gift waiting for him on the table, a bottle of booze with a bow tied around its neck and a small cake box beside it.
“Happy Birthday, Seifer.”
His birthday has gone by unremarked-- he'd honestly just been hoping that everyone had forgotten it entirely. Even Selphie. Possibly especially Selphie, considering her penchant for festivals, chaos, mayhem, et cetera.
So, when she invites him back to her dorm, there's no thought that she might have something up her sleeve. He half-expects a party when he walks through the door, all three people in this place who tolerate his presence jumping out of shadows to wish him a happy belated birthday.
But no one does; there's a bottle with a bow, and a box from a local bakery he's gone to with her before, and it's almost... better this way?
She's off by two days, but she'd remembered.
"Hey, thanks." He picks up the bottle to read the label, and flips the lid of the box to inspect the cake. "You wanna break into these with me?"
