Super A’s “The Other Way Around.”
Currently on view at The Lancaster Museum of Art and presented by Thinkspace Projects in Lancaster, Calfiornia is artist Super A’s solo exhibition, “The Other Way Around.”
Stefen Thelen, better known by his anti-superhero alias, Super A, is a Dutch artist that specializes in murals and studio paintings. His works frequently blur the line between fiction and non-fiction, a common theme seen within his pieces and murals. This exhibition, The Other Way Around, is part of a larger body of work called Trapped — an investigation meant to unmask the truth surrounding fantasy. An example of this can be seen in his piece, The Fifth Month, where he paints the main characters from My Neighbor Totoro. At first glance, the viewer immediately recognizes the iconic characters but upon further inspection, the illusion dissipates, revealing a hyperrealistic translation of these figures.

The 11 new murals of the T.R.U.St project
Taranto for the third edition has called together some important street artists, with the task of giving the city new works of public art and putting the spotlight on the tradition in street art in the city. T.R.U.St (Taranto Regeneration Urban and Street) has involved international artists, bringing to thirty-three the number of works created since 2020 in the city, for an exhibition route that touches all the main points of the city.
Among the names that have put the tag on Taranto’s walls are Super A and his cartoon style, the color energy of Spanish artist Anna Taratiel, Etsom and his reimagining of one of the city’s symbols as the dolphin. Claudio Morne offers his sentimental take on figures of reference for the city; Vesod, on the other hand, played on the boundary between figurative and abstract. Other names include Aches, and Joys’ lettering study. Also JDL, IOTA, Alessandra Carloni and Dadospuntocero’s hyperrealism dedicated to climate change issues.
Thinkspace Projects presents 'Across The Pond', a group art exhibition at Espacio Gallery in London UK, with featured artists; Kayla Mahaffey, Giorgiko, Langston Allston, and Z the Rat (aka Zeinab Diomande), alongside new works from over 30 artists.
The opening reception is Thursday July 28 from 6-9pm UK at Espacio Gallery, 159 Bethnal Green Road, London, England, E2 7DG, and runs from through Saturday July 30 2022.
