Supergirls Part 2
Life for Alexander had never been easy, but it was his mission to make sure that it looked that way. Anyone who knew him would say that his life had been pretty easy. All he had to do was lie and say that he had grown up with two happy parents in a loving home, that he had graduated top of his class, that none of it had to do with a huge secret. He pretended to come from some small town no one had ever heard of and he pretended to be as normal as possible. Really, he was anything but ordinary. The powers he possessed were too great for any normal person to understand. He kept them hidden from the world because people like him had to or else they faced becoming a puppet for the government. They had to be registered, kept under lock and key, and he didn’t want to be treated like an animal. His parents hadn’t wanted it for him either. No one knew what he could do, and honestly, Alexander barely knew everything he could do too. He understood that he could read minds and already that was dangerous enough to get him put into a facility like all of the others like him who had powers that no one could explain. Even his best friend James had no idea what he was, and that was the hardest part of all that no one knew. How could he keep this a secret forever, even from the people closest to him? There were evil people out there using people like him, but he couldn’t do anything to change it so he had to hide until the time arose that he could do something more.
Living with his best friend was hard too, because sometimes he really had to try to conceal his power. Like whenever James started dating a man that Alexander knew had very little interest in him. He had appeared out of nowhere, this man who now was part of his life and the biggest part of James’. “Are you sure that he is your type?” Alexander had asked James when they had first met. The brooding type who could barely even hold his gaze for a long amount of time did not seem like the sort of person James would go for. Quite frankly, Alexander did not trust James’ new boyfriend. His thoughts were hard to read which made his intentions hard to read, though every so often he got a glimmer of them and most of the time those thoughts were about fucking James so he would shut up. Alexander did not think that was a very good relationship to have with someone. Today they were all together at the apartment as they often were and Alexander was supposed to be doing work but his eyes kept traveling from his computer over to where the brooding man sat, his eyes glazed over as James spoke. “Lukas,” Alexander found himself saying, interrupting whatever James was spouting on about. He rarely said the man’s name, it was easier just to call him the brooder whenever he was alone with James. “Are you any good with cars? I think there is something wrong with mine and I could really use your help looking at it.”
