Pivot Cycles presenta la nuova Switchblade, trailbike ibrida con ruote da 29″ ma progettata per ospitare anche ruote dal formato 27.5″ Plus.

Novità principale portata avanti da Pivot Cycles è la tecnologia “Super Boost Plus” con asse posteriore maggiorato  12×157 mm. Chris Cocalis sostiene che tale tecnologia permette un maggior spazio tra i foderi aumentando la rigidità rispetto allo standard Boost 148.

Con il nuovo Super Boost Plus 157 la distanza tra le flange è maggiore di 14 mm rispetto al mozzo Boost 148, in tal modo i raggi hanno un miglior bilanciamento in ambo i lati.

Il Super Boost 157  permette l’uso di guarniture standard mantenendo  la stessa larghezza di pedivella o fattore Q.

Accordi importanti sono stati presi con i più importanti produttori come DT Swiss e SRAM per la commercializzazione del nuovo standard.

Il nuova Switchblade è caratterizzata da un telaio full-carbon dal peso di 2900 gr in taglia M, con sistema di sospensione DW-Link. L’escursione della ruota posteriore è di 135 mm mentre all’anteriore troviamo possibilità di montare forcelle da 150 o 160 mm. Compatibilità con trasmissione 1x e 2x e per trasmissione Shimano Di2 elettronica.

Angolo di sterzo è 67,25° mentre i foderi bassi sono lunghi 428 mm, molto corti. Nella versione con gomme da 29″ è possibile installare pneumatici fino a 2.5″ di sezione e per la 27.5+” fino a 3.25″.

E’ possibile ingrandendo l’immagine leggere i vari allestimenti disponibili nelle 5 taglie dalla XS alla XL. prezzi da 6299$ fino a 10099$. Previsti allestimenti più economici con telaio in alluminio.
