mark leaving NCT is such a monumental end-of-an-era 3rd gen moment. if someone so integral to a group project can not renew a hardcore ass contract that fact is both healthy and promising (i am so looking forward to what mark does next if he keeps on rapping) but also a crazy rupture in the continuum of kpop and mark IS the group and that group has immense reach so the mixed emotions on this are fucking... next level really. i’ve been in the fandom for a decade and haven’t seen anything like this. it feels as big a chasm as BoA’s and taemin’s departure: sm truly is dropping all their legends as an entire business philosophy, absolute mayhem
