Pyrrha/Amber: Oh Jaune~!

Hey! I'm not sure if you take Supergirl prompts. If you don't then no worries. If you do then I'd love to see your take on Kara and Alex hanging out. Alex and Kara decide to spend the whole day on the couch eating endless amounts of junk food or they decide to spend the day at a theme park seeing who can eat the most and ride the most rides without getting sick. Both love roller coasters because they are the one time Alex can fly with Kara. I need more Danvers sister interaction. Thanks!
“I’m never going on another roller coaster as long as I live, that was horrific,” Alex pronounces with a hint of the dramatic. “I can’t believe you made me get on that thing.”
“Okay, you told me that you weren’t scared of anything because you’re a DEO agent and you can do anything,” Kara reminds her, pulling her keys from her bag and unlocks the apartment. “I just thought you should have the opportunity to prove it.”
“Thanks,” Alex says, rolling her eyes. “Really kind of you.”
Kara beams as she bounces into her apartment behind her big sister—Alex had fun, Alex was teasing her—and she picks her up as soon as the door is closed. “Hey! Down! Put me down!” Alex insists—it’s always so strange, for her little sister to be able to pick her up like she weighs nothing at all, even though she’s had years to get used to it, her brain just never can quite grasp the idea of small and so so strong and that face and heat laser from her eyes even though she’s seen it hundreds of times now—and she’s dropped onto the couch half a second later. Her breath comes out in a little oomph and a quick flick of the head moves the hair out of her eyes. “Rude.”
“Yeah but,” Kara shrugs, opens her arms wide. “You love me.”
“Are you sure about that?” Alex grimaces. “I actually hate you. I hate you,” she says, and she repeats it more vehemently when Kara laughs into the fridge. “Oh my god, you’re getting more food? You were just in a gorging competition!”
“I think they’re actually called eating contests and first of all,” Kara tells her, amused and irate, “I had to drop out so I don’t draw attention to myself—”
“Yes, because protecting your secret identity is such a buzzkill.”
“—and secondly, I got hungry on the walk home.”
“You’re actually the most repulsive person I know.” Kara grins—so wide and warm and bright—over her shoulder and plucks out the leftover Chinese food from the night before. “Oh no no no, I paid for that! You told me I could take it home!”
“That was before you told me that you hated me.” Kara drops heavily down onto the couch and drops her feet into Alex’s lap. “Which, by the way,” she points her chop sticks at her sister, “is really mean. And it hurt my feelings.” She widens her eyes and pulls a face and Alex frowns.
“Is that a pout?”
“Yeah?”
“I don’t think so.”
“It is a pout, look.” Kara juts her bottom lip out and widens her eyes a little more.
“No, you just look ill.”
“Alex,” Kara whines. “I know I’m doing this right, don’t be mean.”
Alex relents with a laugh and a shrug.
It’s kind of one of Kara’s cutest traits—she’d been caught dozens of times as a kid sitting in front of the mirror at home practicing her expressions. You call them different things here, Kara had told her, eyes wide and very unsure. Is this a nice smile? And she’d given her the Kara smile, the sweetest warmest smile she knew how.
Alex brought home a book of expressions the next day, from the library. Frowning and smiling Kara had down pat. She got better at begging and pleading and laughing probably came the easiest, laughter had always felt like flying Kara had told her. Flirting? She never quite got the hang of that. Pain Kara had never bothered to learn. What can hurt me here? she’d asked with a smile. Back then, Alex hadn’t understood, but now, after years of loving her sister, she knew that Kara’s pain she always held in carefully open hands and just behind her glasses.
“This is delicious,” Kara moans around a mouthful of Alex’s food, and Alex grins.
“Do you remember what this means?” she asks her little sister, and when she looks over, Alex makes an obscene gesture that has Kara spitting the food up to splatter over the ceiling. Kara splutters a half cough, half laugh, and wipes her mouth with her sleeve.
“Alex!”
“I was just checking,” she says innocently.
“You’re going to have to clean that,” Kara says, and Alex just shrugs and spreads her hands and it’s Kara, in the end, who has to float up and scrub the food off the ceiling because, well, she can fly. And Alex can’t.
“You’re doing great,” Alex tells her lazily as she flips through the channels. “Great job, Kara.” She ignores the first few water drips on her shoulder. “Don’t make me shoot you.”
“Oh like you would.”
“Try me.”
“I’ll tell Eliza if you do.”
Kara drips the sponge a little more and Alex goes as far as resting her gun very casually on her lap but eventually, as the energy of the day seeps out of both of them, they just settle instead of starting another fight and Kara puts away the sponge and the bucket and Alex ends up putting on FRIENDS, which Kara has always loved, and Kara covers them both with a thick blanket.
“I’m glad you came home,” Kara whispers very late in the evening. “I don’t know what I would have done without you.”
Alex stares ahead at the television for a while longer. There are lots of things she could say—you would have been okay, you would have kept going, you would be the Supergirl we all know and love, you would have figured it out—but what she ends up saying, firm and fierce, is a promise.
