Fins back with another banger Tsukasa au. This time akikasa even. I just haven’t drawn that yet ok. Again under the cut GUH
18, he/it, transmasc (cuz I really really love roleplaying tmasc Tsukasa as I mentioned before heh.)
Onto the good stuff!!! I copied my rp submission because I don’t feel like dumbing it down here
Tsukasa is a bold and forward boy, who tends to wear his heart on his sleeve and his pride up front. He makes a point of helping other people and being kind to others, though he regards those who mistreat others with disdain. He is a very expressive person, exaggerating his actions and emotions. He dislikes seeing others in pain, and does his best to make others feel at home with him, which has led many to describe him as gently and even motherly at times.
Tsukasa’s desire to protect forms a shell that he uses to present himself; not purely out of his ideals but out of a need to protect himself from the anxiety of fear and unrest. He fears rejection and the tears of those he loves like nothing else, and throws himself into his care and promises, willing to go to any length to cheer someone up.
Tsukasa often feels lonely, as he tends to never be the first choice: within his family, for his sister, even in his circle of nobles. His parents’ sheltering has left its scar, leaving him both craving for attention and fearing the responsibility that comes with a connection, which he attempts to take in stride and depresses about when failed. He plunges himself into as many activities as possible to alleviate this stress, which strains his already-thin social life even further.

As a child, Tsukasa was heavily protected by his wealthy noble family. He was the sole heir to the family’s fortune for a while, and when his sister came along, he would be deemed head of the family upon their passing. Because of this, they aimed to keep the boy innocent; he was plunged into studies and play and taught never to leave the home. As strict parenting tends to produce, Tsukasa became equally tricky, and would often sneak out during his free time to spy on other mermaids and attempt to join in on their fun. He would also explore ruins and other structures, finding jewels, pearls, and relics of another land, one unknown to him- humans. One day, Tsukasa’s curiosity gets the better of him: he is ushered into his chamber by his mother, who locks the door behind him, warning him to stay put. Danger, she told him; Tsukasa did not believe her (for good reason, he would tell himself; they lied about everything anyway, why trust?) and swam to the surface to take a peek at the so called hazard. There, above the surface, was a massive fish- a fish made of wood, cutting through the water like a knife through butter. Gaping, the young noble boy edged closer, till his gaze was able to make out the blur above the ocean. A large net is cast, and Tsukasa spots fish heading towards it; bait. It’s not difficult to understand- these must be fishermen. Tsukasa rushes forth to shoo the fish away, and in the process, the wires of the net close around him, snapping into place and dragging the frightened mermaid above. It quickly becomes clear that he’s handling no ordinary fishermen- they don dark hats and expensive jewelry, swords hanging in their belts and potbellies hanging out their blouses. Pirates. Tsukasa spends his days captive under the deck of the ship, quivering in the cool, brackish water provided to keep his tail in pristine condition. They feed him much more than he would expect as a prisoner, but the food makes him squirm; staring down the dead eyes of creatures he knows, their loved ones, he’s unable to take a single bite. Due to his inability to cooperate, or communicate for that matter, the pirates deem him to be useless; and make plans to dock and sell the noble the following morning. But then, in the night- a young boy, no older than Tsukasa himself, enters his holding cell. The shock of ginger hair is his strongest memory in the dark of the room, and he can recall how thin arms helped to carry him out of the dirty encasement, and clumsily tossing him overboard to his freedom. Tsukasa swims away as quickly as he can, away from the wretched crew, desperate to claim his freedom; and in this eager dash, he only catches a glimpse of his young savior’s face before vanishing into the depths once and for all…

The midday sun beats harshly down on the beach, scalding the soft sand. On the shore, there’s a splash, and emerging from the sea, Tsukasa peeks around. The mermaid props himself up on a flat stone, shaking his wet hair to allow the strands to lose their hold of water. He’s enjoying the heat; summer days stay for long, but after the harsh winter of last year, he’s learnt to take advantage of these small joys while possible. His plan for today is simple: the humans who live on this coast seem to take great pleasure in disposing of their trash in the waters, and Tsukasa has taken it upon himself to do what he can to protect the marine life. Regrettably abandoning his basking, he slips back into the cool water and swims towards his destination, not far off. To his displeasure, it seems to be a lot today- including some sort of ink bottle… how careless! As the boy works ceaselessly (well, not quite; the occasional shiny bit distracts him from his well-meaning endeavor) to remove the garbage, he locates a soft glimmer from under piles of rubbish. Slipping his wet hands inside, he retrieves a bruised and broken string of pearls, catching the afternoon sunlight wonderfully. Admiring it in soft awe, Tsukasa turns each over in his palm, and sits on the sand, carefully seaming the string through each hole yet again. With a little more exploring, he’s able to find a clasp, and attaches it gingerly. he admires his ‘creation’ with a newfound pride, and just as he deems it finished, a sputter comes from under the water. Looking on in alarm, he spots a small guppy choking on the inky water, and rushes to its aid- though first, clipping the pearls tenderly around his waist before embarking.
I’ll post some more art of him tomorrow+draw and write out akito’s lore for this later but I hope it’s interesting…
