My idea for meeting between Splinter and Sliver

Since the idea of meeting of Sliver and Splinter can’t leave me, I decided to read the origin story of Super Turtles (in Tales of TMNT #47) to get inspiration for fanfiction I may or may not write.

So in the comics Super Turtles were created by Doctor Shredderus as part of a project to create an animal army to battle alien invasion. They were, however, meant to be his personal soldiers in case the government would turn against them. Due to the freaky accident Super Turtles got their powers, Doctor Shredderus was disfigured and Sliver gained intelliegence, while licking his injuries. Sliver was training Super Turtles in secret to fight “aliens” and other monsters created by Shredderus to be Shredderus’ ultimate weapon. Over time they learned that the invasion was a hoax and they decided to expose Shredderus. However, Sliver remained loyal to him until the end.

Now, I would borrow some of this origin, like Doctor Shredderus creating a whole animal army, including Super Turtles, however, I would make Sliver and Super Turtles turn against him and run away from his lab. Super Turtles would perform some heroic deeds and be lauded as heroes by the public, but Sliver would feel disdain for humanity - partly because he was treated badly by humans all his life for being a rat, and partly because he considers himself and Super Turtles as a next step of the evolution.

So in Reality Check Super Turtles and Mikey caused Sliver’s bomb to explode inside of his tower (instead of the rest of the world). How about Sliver not only survived the ordeal, but also got transported to different dimension and ended up in the sewers? Now, he’s pissed off because his sons basically committed patricide to save humans, and he’s lost. And he plans to take over this dimension - try his plan for a new world again. But this time he will also enact his revange on Michaelangelo and his brothers.

And Splinter will be the one to stop him.

SuperTurtles: Yeah, our Splinter raised us, called us his sons, and taught us to be heroes. Eventually, he gave into his own darkness and grew to love power over everything, even us. He betrayed us and became our worst enemy.

Super Turtles

Ch 1: Shredder and Krang have taken over the Neutrino kingdom to get the legendary mutastone of power. With all of the mutastones, Kraang can take over the universe! The turtles are instantly transported from the New York sewer system to the tower of light, where Kris-Mu tells them they are the chosen heroes who must defeat the Shredder! Ch 2: The turtles have to use the mutastones to shrink down and fight the vampire inside Splinter’s heart. No, that’s not a metaphor. 

Ch 3:

Rating: 6/10- It’s cute, and kind of fun/weird, but I would not read again.

Who are they?

April & Splinter: Left in the sewers with all the pizza in ch 1 :(  Sexy Swimsuit (and completely unrecognizable) April and on the verge of death Splinter in ch 2 Amusement park April with fairy cleavage; Splinter stops Devil Shredder from killing Donnie and gets his own transformation in ch 3

Casey: does not make an appearance.

Leonardo: They are

Michelangelo: all the

Raphael: same turtle (except I can pick out Raphael. He’s the one with the black mask.)

Donatello: Don is identical to Leo but he’s easy to identify because they won’t stop asking him for exposition. He’s clearly the author or editor’s favorite. He’s the one that gets to go to an amusement park and gets a kiss from Kris.

Shredder: is sometimes a dragon!

Kraang: is here too!

Other cast members: 

Bebop and Rocksteady bonus points! They are forcibly transformed into hunky dudes with animal heads. Which... isn’t that them already? They fight about who has the sexiest muscles.

Irma shows up! Irma always reminds me of Jeanette the Chipette.

The foot soldiers’ heads look a little deflated, but in a cute way. Like a scarecrow.

Kris-mu is a tiny fairy and the spirit of the mutastones. She’s the exposition dump when it’s not Donnie (the only time he’s identifiable). She is from Neutrino, and has little to no knowledge of earth. She has to die for the turtles to transform into the Turtle Saint.

Did I make it ALL the way through? Clocking in at approximately 300 pages, I did manage to make it through. Whew! What a trek.

Are they ninjas?

It doesn’t come up much- mostly, they’re turtles or buff seinen soldiers, who bare a passing resemblance to Wolverine. Splinter is definitely a ninja.

Are they a family?

Sure they are! Kris-mu calls the turtles “Mr Donatello” and “(Donatello’s) brothers, so why not?

Do I like them?

They are very cute, but they lack substance. Except Donnie.

Who’s my favorite?

Shredder! His pajamas are very good.

Do they murder?

Technically, they do murder Don’s new girlfriend.

Is there magic?

Yes. They become big beefy men and combine into one.

How old do they seem vs. cannon ages (if any): No clue!

Are they going to ever talk to each other again after the end of the series?: Most definitely

If I was rescued by them in a dark alley would I be grateful or horrified?: Yes.

For real though they are very cute and Splinter is a very sweet looking rat, but the bara wolverine look is very intimidating.

What’s left unresolved?

Nothing! This is a complete sort-of story.

The best:

“...Why am I wet and crippled with depression?” -the Shredder

The worst:

... I think the turtles and Shredder end up destroying the twin towers.
