two new chapters went up and they are quietly devastating in the way that sneaks up on you later.

the first one is small on purpose. exhaustion catching up. a shower that starts practical and ends intimate. hands learning bruises without naming them. care given slowly enough that it almost feels like a confession. it’s about vulnerability that doesn’t ask permission and the kind of tenderness that only shows up when someone is too tired to keep their guard intact. Lena finally lets herself rest, and it feels like trust rather than collapse.

the second one stretches time instead of breaking it. recovery measured in things that look insignificant from the outside but feel enormous from the inside. standing on her own. washing her hair. touching her guitar again like it might still belong to her. Kara is there for all of it, steady and careful, and something warm and sharp starts growing between them again. something that feels both healing and dangerous.

and then Lena overhears an argument she was never meant to hear, and all that quiet progress turns inward. the old fear resurfaces. the belief that loving her means costing Kara something she cannot afford to lose. that being wanted might also mean being a liability.

these chapters are about care and guilt existing in the same space. about how healing doesn’t erase fear, it just gives it new language. about realizing that wanting someone and protecting them are not always the same thing.

they’re soft. they’re heavy. and they’re laying the groundwork for choices that are going to hurt no matter how they’re made.

glasshearts (supercorp band au) update because i feel like i owe people one.

skin & bones is so close to finished i can practically feel the last chapter sitting in my head. like it’s there. the scenes are there. the ending of the arc is there. my brain just refuses to actually let the words come out onto the page right now and it is incredibly frustrating.

i’m really trying. i open the document, i stare at it, i poke at it, i rearrange sentences, and then my brain just feels… stuffed. like there are too many thoughts in the room and none of them can get to the door.

the reason i’m pushing so hard to get through arc three is because arc four — the final arc — is the bittersweet happy ending i’ve had planned since october. the one where lena finally finds herself again, and somehow, against everything that happened, they still find their way back to each other.

and we are so close to getting there.

i’m really sorry for the delay. i want to finish this story more than anything. arc three just needs to get unstuck so we can finally step into the ending.

🖤📣 Celebrity Status update / mild chaos announcement 📣🖤

Hey friends,

Just wanted to pop in with a quick transparency moment as I reshare Celebrity Status around Tumblr again.

I’m currently revising this story into an original queer contemporary romantic literary fiction novel. While that process is happening, the fic is staying up on AO3 exactly as it is. Nothing is vanishing into the void right now.

Once I officially start querying agents or if I decide to self-publish, I will be taking it down—but I promise I’ll let everyone know where to buy/read it once it exists in book form. If ARCs end up being a thing, I’ll do my absolute best to make sure readers who’ve supported the story in its original incarnation get first access (with the caveat that ARCs are weird and limited and sometimes don’t exist at all).

Updates on the other stories I’m working on might slow a bit while I juggle:

• revisions

• continuing the third arc (Skin & Bones)

• other fic projects

• and my partner and I becoming first-time parents at the end of April (!!!)

So yes, chaos. But beautiful chaos.

I cannot overstate this: I would not be here without you all. This fandom, the comments I’ve received on these stories, the “where is the crowd???” energy—that’s what made me believe this story could be something beyond fanfic.

i love how this chapter said “what if a girl came home and the house immediately tried to eat her”

because that is EXACTLY what is happening here.

this is not a fight scene. this is a hostage negotiation where the hostage is lena’s self-control and the ransom is blood.

we start with:

• lena standing on a balcony like “existence is beautiful and i am vibrating at a frequency mortals cannot perceive”

and end with:

• multiple shattered bones

• a blood trail up the stairs

• a vampire uncle going “oh noooo you’re injured 😌 guess you’ll have to feed”

yeah. this one hurts.

“Caroline” stays in the waiting room. it’s about the aftermath — the shock, the guilt, the stuff people finally say when they’re too exhausted to keep pretending they’re okay.

this chapter is:

– kara sitting with the fact that she almost lost lena

– sam carrying years of anger and fear she never gets to put down

– the band realizing they missed something important

– alex doing what alex does: holding kara together

– lillian being quiet, surgical, and cruel in a way that’s way too familiar

nothing gets fixed here. that’s intentional. this is the chapter where everyone has to wait and think and remember.

the song is “Caroline.”

listen after you read. it’s about watching someone fall and knowing love doesn’t magically stop gravity.

This chapter is the moment where the story stops letting anyone pretend.

Kara steps outside the room and finally asks the questions she has been circling since Seattle.

Sam answers them — not gently, not dramatically, but honestly.

This is the chapter about:

– what long-term survival actually looks like

– what “managing” mental illness means when there are contracts and people depending on you

– the difference between loving someone and rescuing them

– and the quiet, terrifying question: are you staying?

There is no collapse here. No explosion.

Just the truth of Lena’s past, laid out piece by piece, and Kara choosing what she is willing to carry forward with her eyes open.
