Investigating a string of missing and mutilated pets wasn’t supposed to end like this: with Kara staring at the alabaster skin and blood red lips, and a beautiful woman gazing hungrily down at her.
A monster lived in the manor at the top of the hill, the citizens had warned her. Someone—something—had moved in months ago, preceding the disappearance of first a chihuahua named Bella, then many more vanished pets. Help us, Miss Danvers, they’d begged.
Soft lips curl languidly. “A monster, hm?”
Kara hadn’t realized she’d communicated anything about the neighbor’s claims until the woman says it. Blinking, Kara suddenly realizes her arms are around the woman’s waist, her shoulders clasped by long pale fingers. How had that happened? Their grip is firm, but not painful, not controlling.
In the next moment, it registered that the woman—what was her name? Lena?—was all but sitting in her lap when she climbed off Kara’s lap and stepped away. Lena’s fingers trailed down Kara’s arm to clasp her fingers, giving an inviting tug.
Leading the way from a lush living room Kara didn't remember entering, Lena brought Kara to a room that was a clearly well-used office. A desk stood in the center, with a plush chair presiding behind it. There Lena silently bade Kara sit once more, then brought her pillowy cleavage next to Kara’s heated face as she reached across to tap a command into the computer. After moment’s buffer, a video appeared.
At first, Kara didn’t understand what the shadowy camera view was meant to show her. As though sensing her confusion, Lena elaborated. “My security system records around the clock. This is the south lawn at 1:15am, two nights ago.”
Ah. Kara saw it now—a long shadow in the center of the screen resolved itself into a hedge of unbloomed rosebushes. Then, a flash of movement as several dark shapes low to the ground slunk out from under it, moving swiftly towards the right edge of the screen. The camera view changed, showing another angle to track the creatures’ movement.
Kara frowned. “Is that--?”
“Coyotes,” Lena confirmed in a belabored sigh. “Well known to be opportunistic predators. Why expend unnecessary energy chasing wary prey when local lawns serve 24-hr domestic dim sum?”
Resentment settled heavily in Kara’s stomach. The fact the townspeople defaulted to blaming an outsider before examining their own actions didn’t surprise her; that they didn’t bring their animals inside after so many had turned up dead, did.
She stood, the reminder of humanity’s selfishness a dousing chill that cut whatever spell her host had held over her. Even so, her skin heated when Lena’s fingers touched her wrist.
“Don’t blame them too harshly,” Lena said gently. Kara’s glare snapped to her, then softened. “It’s in their nature to hate.”
“Their nature?” Kara echoed. She hadn’t expected Lena to separate herself from humanity so readily.
Blood red lips curled in a smile. “Live long enough, and the cycle becomes pattern. Fear, then hatred… soon, violence.”
Kara bristled. “You shouldn’t stay here.”
Nodding absently, Lena looked around the room. “I’d hoped I’d get to stay here at least a decade, but—what can one do?”
As though with a mind of its own, Kara snatched the woman’s hand, pulling her long fingers close to her chest. “Come with me. I can protect you.”
Lena’s slender eyebrow lifted with playful skepticism. “Protect me? You?”
Kara slipped one hand free and parted the buttons on her blouse. Earthy green eyes took in the crest of Kara’s family, her recognition of the symbol plain on her features.
“I’m Supergirl. I’ll protect you.”
Lena shifted, resting her weight on one sultry hip as her lips spread into a ivory grin. “I don’t know about protection, Supergirl,” came a teasing purr, “but we can certainly have some fun.”
Kara:(Crying) I... I a.. am Supergirl. I wanted to tell you from the start but Lena please believe me, I didn't know how, I didn't wanna hurt you.. I ...
Lena: Kara.... Listen... Darling... Kara....
Kara:(rambling)After what happened last night... I just couldn't keep it anymore. I know you hate me.
Lena: Love I can never hate you. Listen...
Kara still crying and rambling
Lena:(Shouting) Kara STOP. (Kara scared and stopping instantly) I knew you were Supergirl from the start because I am a fucking vampire who can listen to your thoughts, I don't hate you, I love you more than anything, I think you are my mate but now I think YOU will hate me. FUCK!!
Kara: I... I am your mate?
Lena:(sighing) This is what you are asking? Baby, how did you not realise I was a vampire? (Kara blushing)
Kara:(pouting)How could I?
Lena: Well considering the fact that you are the girl of steel and I literally woman handled you last night. All those positions I put you in, overpowering YOU, Kara I bit you, drew blood. Sweetheart I say this with all the love and respect but how the fuck you didn't noticed the FANGS!!
Kara:(blushing)Well... I.. it was my first time with a woman ok, I told you before. I thought, I thought woman do it, and about the strength you are Lena Fricking Luthor, I thought it's a Luthor thing. Maybe I could have figured it out later but I was too stressed about you hating me.
Lena:(softening and pulling Kara into her arms who literally melts) Pretty girl, all of me craves you, I want to be your sanctuary honey rather than stress zone.
Kara:(suddenly pulling away) WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU CAN READ MINDS?
Lena:(shrugging) it's one of the powers I have.
Kara:(mortified) so you knew?
Lena:(grinning) that you wanted me so bad that even my voice was enough to ruin your panties on a daily basis. Yes dear I was aware. (Kara groaning with embarrassment and hiding her face in Lena's neck)
Lena:(putting her hand in Kara's underwear to make her rub against it) Should have took you a lot sooner, if I was sure you wouldn't leave me.(Whispering)

I have a new story out, Bats In The Rafters! You can check it out here. It’s a follow up to my previous vampire!Lena fic, Some Friends Come With Fangs (link to that one here).
Bats In The Rafters: Webby has successfully befriended Lena, the vampire who secretly lives out in the woods behind Duckburg, despite Lena's best efforts to the contrary. Now, having deemed the dilapidated old Woodchuck building Lena's been using as a house unlivable, Webby's next goal is to convince her to move into her room in McDuck Manor—once again despite Lena's best efforts to the contrary.
This fic was written as a one-shot commission for @dragonhealer406, and the AU belongs to @quadrell. Hope you guys enjoy!
