look even tho i absolutely hate the season of sequels/reboots we're in, i'm so excited for the superman movie. i think it was so needed bc we just hadn't found our superman yet. marvel has had massive success by essentially creating the marvel characters irl, casting each person carefully and adjusting the tone of each movie to fit that respective character. the justice league movies didn't have that same feeling. it felt a lot more like a-list actors playing these roles rather than bringing the comic book chrs to life. that's why i'm so excited for this new superman. james gunn seems to have brought new life into the DCU and captured the lighter, more hopeful, and sillier side of superman that DC so desperately needed. don't get me wrong, i absolutely adore henry cavil, but i think the writing for his character was trying wayyyyy too hard to be dark and edgy and cool. this superman is a cute, bumbling, awkward alien doing his best to fit in on earth while saving the city from a wild collection of villains. that's it. that's all we needed. this superman is fun. he's romantic. he's heroic. he's saving little kids and lifting buildings and walking through fire unscathed. that's superman.

Bat Family + Y/n who is mad at Bruce

Bruce approached y/n cautiously, sensing her frustration. "Y/n, can we talk for a moment?"

Y/n looked up from her work with a deadpan expression. "I'm sorry, Bruce, but I can only speak through my legal team now." She nodded slightly towards Jason, Tim, and Dick, who were nearby.

Bruce raised an eyebrow, unsure whether to be amused or concerned. "Legal team?"

"Yeah," y/n replied dryly. "Jason handles intimidation tactics, Tim's our resident tech expert for hacking into feelings, and Dick specializes in acrobatic negotiations. So, take your pick."

Bruce chuckled softly, realizing y/n wasn't going to let this go easily. "Alright, fair enough. How about a coffee break then?"

Y/n smirked, her annoyance softening a bit. "Well played, Bruce. Coffee it is, but you're paying."

Bruce nodded, relieved that y/n's sarcasm wasn't a sign of lasting anger. "Deal. Let's go before they bill me for emotional damages too."

The thing about most "deconstructions" of super hero's is like "what if Clark Kent was a total fucking dick!?" Or "what if Batman killed people?!" And it's like okay what if rained jello? Neat but it doesn't.

The point of Clark is he has a heart of gold, that he his caring and loving and wants the good for all of earth. The whole point of Bruce is he is the hard line of justice, to a fault, he doesn't kill he wants fairness and what is right.

So all of these deconstructions is really just asking, "what if there where no hero's?" And we kinda already live in that world. No need to imagine super powerful folks not doing the right thing.
