Last weekend got the opportunity to meet the talented Michael Dobson at TFCon!!! I know him best as the voice of Starscream from the Unicron Trilogy, which was my first exposure to the character. Armada Starscream in particular was such a great character! Michael was incredibly nice to meet and it was amazing getting to hear him perform IRL. He kindly autographed this pic I drew! Wanted to go for a faux screenshot sort of vibe!

What can I say? When I imagine the voice of Starscream, it's Michael Dobson's voice that I hear!

Was watching bits of Transformers Energon/Superlink recently because I was feeling nostalgic and I noticed there was a strangely spiritual angle to the show. Unicron isn't treated just as an evil villain, but as an internal aspect of the Transformers' nature.

The idea that "Unicron is within all of us" doesn't sound too far from "God is within all of us" which is a common idea across various religions. That the human being is a microcosm of God.

In Christian lore for example Humanity is made in God's image and God resides within all people, but we have to make an effort to awaken that in ourselves.

Bhuddism similarly states that awakening and becoming a Bhudda is something anyone can set out to achieve through practice.

In a sense Unicron in Energon/Superlink can be thought of as some sort of dark Bhudda for Transformers.
