5. How many ways can you possibly kill Mon-El?

bludgeon him with a lead pipe at 5am in a denny’s parking lot

eat his heart in the marketplace

climb into the television and strangle him my-goddamned-self

shoot him into vast depths of space, as per the comics

fire him into the sun, as per my private fanfiction

re-write alex danvers to be in-character 

properly introduce him to lena luthor

astra in-ze rises from the dead and obliterates his ass

9. Why do you hate Mon-El?

short answer: i hate mon-el because this character is the personification and glorification of everything that is toxic about white masculinity 

and i hate the cw, and whichever executives/producer are complicit in this because they refuse to outright denounce this toxicity.

isn’t it fucking interesting that alex and maggie had nothing but good things to say about each other before and after they got together, and after their first fight they got through it by expressing their feelings equally and agreeing that if alex ever decided she couldn’t handle the relationship and the pressure of this being her first relationship with a woman then they would split up, and ended up easing some of that pressure by letting alex come out to her friends on her own terms and since then they’ve barely argued and handled problems between them by compromising like grown ass adults

isn’t it fucking interesting that when not a single person believed in lena kara refused to say a bad word about her and gave lena plenty of encouragement and flat out told her she believed in her and that she was a good and smart person in the face of her abusive family and lena finds it in herself to be good and turns against the people that she’s terrified of becoming, and in doing so tells kara that she - not supergirl - is her true hero, validating kara’s entire story arc of trying to exist outside of supergirl’s shadow and be good enough as kara danvers

isnt it fucking interest that kara and mon-el insulted the shit out of each other for almost all of their interactions leading up to his big confession to her, including disrespecting her and refusing to listen to her and belittling what she believed to be her very purpose, and even after realizing that the “romantic” feeling was apparently mutual kara couldn’t think of a damn reason to like mon-el but got together with him anyway only for him to continuously act without an ounce of respect for kara’s wishes or her ability as supergirl and after each fight begs for a second change that keeps getting only to mess it up barely a day later and they fight all over again and kara, as the reason for his emotions, has to shoulder the blame of being the reason he acts this way and forgive him for it

it almost seems like supergirl s2 is being written by two disparate parties

one wrote the first two episodes, and the #sanvers arc, created a wonderfully healthy relationship there, inserted themes about how kara danvers is an identity just as important as supergirl, and how she’s trying to make her own name, strike her own path - in a word, ‘dive’

the other has a raging hard-on for mr wonder white bread and has never met or truly cared for a woman in their entire lives and doesn’t seem to understand what show it is that they’re writing for, perhaps they wandered into the wrong studio and no one bothered to correct their mistake

karamel discourse is exactly the same as fifty shades discourse where people 100% have the right to call out the harmful abusive tropes that the ship caters to, I honestly couldn’t give a shit about “ship hate!!!!” etiquette because it absolutely doesn’t deserve a safe space to be actively ignored and/or encouraged/romanticized

3. How do you think Mon-El should be killed off?

it should be something painful, something profound, something that doesn’t allow his character to be glorified or romanticised, something wherein kara danvers has her agency and protagonist-ship returned to her in full, something that sends exactly the right kind of message to the right kinds of people.
