To Be Worthy - ML - C5

Chapter 5:

My suit, if I said so myself, looked amazing! I finished the designs for the suit and gadgets within the first hour and a half so now all I had to do was make them. Thankfully JARVIS - Mr Stark’s AI, told me that he had this super-advanced 3D printer-thing that could make it for me. It was now about 20 minutes into the process and the gadgets were all completed, along with half of the suit.

There wasn’t really anything left for me to do but watch the really cool process of actually making the suit so I spared a glance at all of the other tables and gaped. Their tables were empty. No suits, no robots, not even any sketches. My classmates weren’t even there. And, as I looked around, I saw where they were and couldn’t help but stare. I knew my classmates were a bit... dim, but this was pushing it. They were in an actual Stark Industries lab, with full access to all the tech and resources - something people would kill to even dream about - and they were listening to Lila.

“Ridiculous, utterly ridiculous.” Chloe muttered from next to me.

“I... how... what the...?” I was practically having a nervous breakdown.

Chloe snorted from next to me and answered “I believe the sheep have finally lost their last collective braincell. Such a shame.” She tutted. I shivered - it was never a good idea to have Chloe on your bad side - she was absolutely terrifying when mad.

Then, JARVIS’ voice interrupted my thoughts, bringing my attention back to my suit. “Miss, your suit is ready.”

“Oh, thank you JARVIS, and call me Marinette or Mari, Miss sounds too formal.”

“Of course Mari.” It might have just been me but I thought the AI sounded rather fond when he said my name.

“Thanks J.”

I heard Chloe scoff next to me and wondered what she found so funny.

“What Chloe?”

“You! I can’t believe - you really do make friends wherever you go don’t you Maribug.”

“Well, I wouldn’t say that I-”

“You made friends with a robot M - a robot. If that’s not proof I don’t know what is.”
