What to Do About Current Support Meta
If you are able to handle dealing with the Mercy toxicity at the moment, I am not dissuading you from doing so. The Mercy meta might be dead, but she is not. Not yet, entirely.
Though the Overwatch team has soiled one of our favorite heroes, remember that she is still incredibly important to a game. She has the most consistent healing output, and can continue to heal a large amount provided that she is alive to do it. With these nerfs, they don't make her that much less viable, but they certainly make her much less enjoyable to play. What she lacks in utility, she makes up for in consistency, which is why many people like her.
First off: She is a giant, glowing, slow moving person during her ultimate that stays still for a combined total of at least three and a half seconds during resurrect cast times. Enough time for a hack, headshot, instant death, or other means to a death. Many ultimates can cancel her out. I'm probably missing some other important bits on how this changes things, but believe me, altogether with toxic competitive players, and some of the quickplay servers, it's already enough for me to stop.
Now. For the people who for the pursuit of their own mental health, stay away from playing Mercy because of the people mentioned above. A meta that I and several other Mercy mains are discussing is Moira and Zenyatta or Lucio, depending on the map. Dive comp and three tank meta might be making their ways back to the game. Moira is excellent at the dive comp, and since both sources of her healing is on a meter, an additional healer, which is Lucio or Zenyatta, can pick up the slack.
And, with love, I give you my regards. Please, if there is anything to add, do reblog and tack on what you have to say!
