Women are glamorizing being under the thumb of a misogynist without realizing it means doing everything you're told to do. Being his slave. Being his servant. His maid. Making him money. Working with and for him. Giving him every cent of your earnings. Did you seriously think all you had to do was dress sexy, get fucked, and cook and clean?
It's Men's Mental Health Awareness month. Today, we live in a society where men are demonized, treated like feces, accused of false allegations all the time, and treated like walking wallets. So many men are dealing with mental health issues and are forced to stay silent about it because either they feel the need to act tough or because they know society will disregard them. Gender equality is dead. Many men feel the pressure of leading the household but get told they "have it easy." Men, as the leaders, have to make the hard decisions and, if they make the wrong call, run the risk of hurting their family who has put their trust into him. All that responsibility can crush a man. And modern feminism has led to many women acting entitled and lazy. Instead of supporting their husbands, they loung about and act like their husband owes them something. A lot of abusive men suffer from mental health issues and feel like they have to suppress their issues because they know society will just make fun of them for it, disregarding a serious issue. Does this make abuse okay? Of course not. But understanding where the root of the problem is can help prevent it. This Men's Mental Health Awareness month, ask you husband, father, brother, or guy friend how they are doing. Reach out. Be a safe space for them to healthily release their stress. Help prevent abusive men by helping men find mental help. No one should have to suffer through mental health problems alone. Same goes for men. Happy Men's Mental Health Awareness month 💙🫂
The many shades of masculinity
It can be sophisticated.
It can be pedestrian.
It can be the student.
It can be the teacher.
It can be obvious.
It can be hidden.
It can be funny.
It can be serious.
It can be dark.
It can be charming.
It can be the jock.
It can be the nerd.
It can be the beast.
It can be the protector.
It can be the leader.
It can be the sidekick.
Men uphold it.
Women tap into it too.
It can be a player.
It can be a husband.
It is in our sons.
It is in our fathers.
It can be fantastical.
It can be ordinary.
It can wear an armor.
It can wear pink.
But it will always be needed in our world, our fiction and in our men even just a little. Masculinity is natural, beautiful and not something to be ashamed of. Even the most feminine of us have masculine sides.
Don't erase it. Embrace it.
PS: Don't forget that June is Men's Mental Health Awareness month. Be sure to check up on the men in your life and talk to them. They may need your help.
Blocking misandrists on Tumblr is a full-time job.
Cishet men need our support if we want things to change. Positive reinforcement is the best way.
Constant nagging is useless
