There’s a reason why so many men’s hockey players are terrified of coming out.
Don’t let the NHL profit off of us until they actually start changing the toxic culture.
Instead, show some love to the PWHL and US Women’s Hockey team.
The US Women’s Hockey Team have received metals every single Olympics since Women’s Hockey was introduced into the Olympics.
They performed better than the US Men’s Hockey Team by a huge margin this year (and every year since the US Men’s Hockey team hasn’t metaled in a very long time). And they did that having less money, less of a fan base, worse equipment and rinks (per the information that I’ve found if this part is wrong please politely correct me. I’m still new to the hockey world).
They don’t deserve to be a “pity invite”.
They don’t deserve to be deemed less than or an underdog just because they are women.
Look at their stats.
Don’t support the toxic culture of the NHL. Support the PWHL and all the incredible women players who strive to have a positive culture while playing a game they love.
