@supportary asked: you're still you. nothing can change that.
ㅤIt was nice that, even though things had changed between Gregor and Sylvie, everything was still exactly the same. He could be sitting at her table, eating some of the breakfast she'd cooked for them, after spending the night with her, and she would still talk like she had nothing but disdain for him. Gregor had made some little comment about how she really liked him after all, that she must do, and what had she gone and said? You're still you. Like there was no fixing some problems. And she was standing there -- in his jumper! -- with that smile on her face, tone like she thought him to be the biggest idiot in the country.
ㅤGregor shook his head at her -- but he was laughing as he did, the very furthest thing in the world from offended. God willing, she'd never stop being like that. It was too fun.
ㅤ“ Wow, ” was all he said for a moment. He leaned back in his kitchen chair with the one wobbly leg and rested his hands upon his stomach. Now, he might have looked absolutely smitten with her but that was only to last for a moment. A frown quickly settled at his brow, one that suggested he had uncovered some truth about her from her unkind words. “ I see how it is. Didn't believe it when they told me about Manchester lasses, but I shoulda listened. ”
