Women in Mahabharata - Suratha [Shivi]
T.W. child death, cannibalism
She is the wife of King Shivi. Shivi has two sons: Kapotaroma and Vrihadgarbha.
Kapotaroma was born from the skin of Shivi after he almost killed himself trying to donate his own flesh to an eagle to save a pigeon that had taken shelter on his lap. This child was still acknowledged as Suratha's son.
Vrhadgarbha is presumably biologically Suratha's child, and Shivi murdered, cooked and consumed his flesh at the behest of the brahmin, who also locked all of Shivi's staff and wives inside their palace and then set it on fire.
