In Chapter 5 of CoLS Clary has a dream

It’s where she sees two people, one with golden hair and gold wings and one with white hair and black wings and they are by a lake.

NOW

at the time us and Clary presume it’s Jace and Sebastian by Lake Lynn, but they don’t have gold and black wings

BUT YA KNOW WHO DOES

ASH!!! ASH HAS BLACK WINGS!! AND KIT HAS GOLDEN WINGS (well ok that’s not confirmed but Kit is the first heir who else would have GOLD WINGS)

THANK U MOE MY WARRIOR. i did not realize i made that original post 2 hours ago until i went to answer this ask WHOOPS. i was busy. n e ways. i have 2 main guys:

choi jaehui ^ Guy Whos Life Sucks. cjh is sooooo funny to me because the general concept of him (gay wizard) came to me in an incredibly vivid (at the time) dream and then he lived on just as 'gay wizard' in my head for like. a year and a half...? before i started actually developing him.

he ORIGINALLY was a like really snarky and full of himself necromancer based 100% off of typical shitty action manhwa protagonist (even his hair cut is stolen from one LOL) but 👆 hes so much more now. his life sucks now <3 LOL.

jaehui is the apprentice of one of his countries most powerful archmage's, he was originally an orphan just living on the street until one day his master happened to notice him using magic to steal food from a street vendor and, seeing his talent in magic, decided to take him in. that happened when he was around 10 or so.

BECAUSE OF THIS, he went from being a commoner to a noble, which all of the nobles surrounding him & his master Obviously Didn't Like, but they backed off once they saw jaehui's inherent talent in magic because of how useful of a Tool They Could Use he would be. jaehui of course noticed that the only reason anyone tolerated him was because of the magic and this did of course give him a complex.

cut to about 20 years later, every aspect of jaehui's personality that isnt "calm and agreeable archmage" is almost completely repressed, with the only exception (kind of.) being his master. the problem is, his master has been missing for serveral months. he finally has found a lead on his whereabouts, and a tearful reunion ensues! because what he finds is his masters corpse.

in this universe, any magic realted to "life" (healing, blood magic, necromancy...) is outlawed and its genuinely believed that you will basically condemn your soul to hell if you practice it. jaehui remembers this and then immeidtly attempts to bring his master back from the dead. he fails, though, being stopped by shua because hes about to summon a demon. he gets a cool tattoo as a mark of damnation on his eyeball though, so thats fun! speaking of shua...

joshua "shua" caballero <3 he also has a funny origin story in that i had the idea of an oc whos a mexican catboy who goes ña and made him. even his name is a joke bc all my friends have a guy named joshua that we obsessed over. but hes so much more now...

shua is the son of a subsidiary family of the caballero barony (aka his dad is the brother of the baron. you understand). he is also the head captain of the imperial knights! or, he was, until he overheard a plot of the imperial family kidnapping and brainwashing nobles that dont agree with them, and betrayed by the knights he considered to be his blood brothers as they killed him to keep him silent

he only survived because not every catperson can turn into an actual cat, and the fact that he could wasn't known by anyone besides his parents. but being betrayed by the very people he considered family worked out <3 because it was only after doing so did he realize his awesome nonbinary swag and actually get to explore his sense of identity outside of "someone meant to serve as a weapon for the crown" <3 jaehui is also transgender i didnt say it in his character profile but he is

anyways, shua's attempted murder happened about a year or so before jaehui's master went missing, and he's been trying to investigate that whole brainwashing thing since. that lead him to the same warehouse jaehui's master's corpse was being kept, which in turn lead him to meeting jaehui <3 talk about a meet cute <3 guy accidentally starts summoning a demon during a mental breakdown over his masters dead body <3 you know how it is!

but they meet there, and they realize 'huh we clearly have the same goal and need to further investigate why my master is dead / why the royals are brain washing people we might as well team up' and so they do! and more suffering ensues. but so does love <3 and more suffering <3 and more love <3

despite this being like 700 words this is only a very brief summary of just their base characters but if you want to learn more (in theory. i dont post tbh.) i have an oc blog for them too @choijaehui SMILE. thank you for asking and giving me an excuse to write about my guys + start thinking about them again. in the time it took me to write all this out its now also been 3 hours since i made that origal post thats crazy. well!
