The one where... Scully & Doggett investigate a killer with X-ray vision who shoots his victims through solid walls.

Best: ... Tracing the pathway of the bullet up to the roof was kind of fun investigative work?

Worst: The suspects are all unpleasant and we spend so much time with them! Some of my least favorite episodes are the ones that spend most of the screen time with other characters - it takes great writing and acting to make me care immediately about one-off characters. And the episodes where none of our main characters are Taking! It! Personally! really suffer in making me care about the outcome of the case. Overall just unmemorable, I can never remember what this one and the next episode Salvage are about or which one’s which.

Rewatch Thoughts:

Doggett check-in: Does Doggett calling Scully “Agent” seem weird to anyone else? I’m not saying he has to be so informal as to call her Scully or Dana in the field but why not “Agent Scully”?

Pregnancy check-in: No mention. This episode takes place over just a few days so if no time has passed since the last case Scully must be at least 9-11 weeks along.

Missing Mulder: No mention 😢

I like the way Scully comes at the x-ray vision theory - using science as a jumping off point seems more her, less desperately trying to channel Mulder.

The actor that plays Randall reminds me of someone... maybe Pfaster?

I like Scully’s new grey coat! She looked great this episode at least.

There’s some kind of link between the real estate company and the exterminator 

Doggett always calls her Agent...fine I guess

It’s not that the episode is boring me, I’m just tired all of the sudden

It’s about a stalker apparently

Alright so, imma be fully honest here...I fully fell asleep at this point, and that’s all you need to know about this episode

Consensus: I fell asleep.

Summary: The fatal shooting of a realtor while alone in a cinderblock jail cell has Doggett hoping motive will yield more than method, but they soon learn that there is more to this case than meets the eye.
