𝙂𝙞𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙙 🥩 I’m no stranger to @hippodromecasino. Don’t worry, I don’t have a problem, I just spent some enjoyable nights in there for a really intense period of my life. It’s not just a casino though, it’s also the home to a VERY good steak house. @heliotsteakhouse comes from @meatologist_ioannis_grammenos and it is an incredible menu. They specialise in USDA 28 day aged prime steaks, from a 250g fillet up to a 500g rib eye for one, then you’ve got your T Bone, chateaubriand, and tomahawk for sharing. There’s also some extra aged steaks averaging 40-60 days, such as T Bone, sirloin on the bone, and a 500g rib on the bone, which I had. I topped it with bone marrow, I added a red wine sauce, and honestly it was a beautiful cut of beef. We also got the surf and turf; a cut of fillet with half a lobster. Ioannis also offers a selection of steaks from around the world, such as Argentinian rib eye and Spanish fillet on the bone. The pricing is very good too, especially being inside a premium casino, you’d expect it to be a lot higher. Starters and sides were amazing too, especially the Millionaires Mac & cheese with a poached duck egg and black truffle. Without a doubt one of the best Mac and cheeses I’ve had. I loved the foie gras starter, and the sea bass ceviche is also a Smokey showstopper. Cocktails are really good too, deffo try the Make Me Blush if you like them sweet. There’s so much more I could say about Heliot but I feel like I’d need a column in The Guardian.
