Thoughts on suriya 46?
not much! too early without any credible information, but i'm not super stoked about it or anything. the only thing we know so far is that the producer said it's a ''family entertainer''.... which... idgaf about anymore at my age when what i want from suriya - now that he's 50 - is legacy and soulful films that stand the test of time, that push boundaries in themes or filmmaking, not basic and cliched films in a genre that is done to death in tamil cinema (especially when suriya45 is ALSO a family entertainer. booooring. how many of these fucking films do we need). the earliest rumoured sub-genre is that it's also an action-heist entertainer? which... bleh. however, if it's a romance drama, the other rumour, i'd be into it more since i want suriya in more romance films. he really hasn't done any in a while (retro is a step in the right direction but it's still bogged down by action, even if it's a rare action film i enjoyed recently)
i'm also not a big fan of venky, as i've seen vaathi and lucky bhaskar, neither films i cared about it. i thought they were too sterile/overwritten. nor am i a fan of telugu-style action and humour, cos even though this is touted to be a tamil film, the writing and production is telugu, so i worry about elements i dislike from their industry seeping into this. all in all, really don't have much positive feelings about it at the moment, but we'll see :}
