"Hey, Ares." His shadow shifted as Ruby emerged from the darkness. "I...Need to talk with you." Normally Ruby was very upbeat and outgoing. She was being oddly sensitive with her manners today though. She even avoided direct eye contact with him. Something must be wrong.
Ares nearly yelped, and stumbled backwards a few steps as his shadow changed, and then fell back on his rear. The moment he saw it was Ruby though, he calmed down a bit.
"R-Ruby?!" He gasped, "Ya scared the crap outta me!"
Hi expression changed from surprised to worried though as he heard her speak, and suddenly he had a bad feeling. He raised one of his hands as if he was going to reach out from her, but then slowly recoiled it and rested it on the ground beside him instead, "Uh, yeah? I mean... what's wrong? Everythin' okay?"
