Fermented herring (Surströmming)

Surströmming is a traditional dish in northern sweden. In the 16th century there was a shortage of salt in Sweden and the people needed some way to preserve their fish. The solution was fermentation. Surströmming is known for it's horrible smell but the few brave ones that dare to taste says it is delicious.

maybe it wouldnt have been as bad if he wasnt so transphobic in the past. maybe we could dismiss it as "maybe he forgot its pronouns" or "maybe he never picked up on the separate sets" but matpat has proven himself to be transphobic, espessially to nonbinary folks before already. i cannot just hand out the benefit of the doubt at this point. and honestly, nobody probably should.
