Going to go a little more with the P4 flavour more than P5? Because in a Persona AU, I see V more as Vergil’s Shadow; the part of Vergil that he’s always hated, more than a twist or a corruption of intent, like the P5 flavour of Shadow Selves. (I’ve been DWELLING on a Persona AU for V like you WOULDN’T BELIEVE– )
So, as Vergil’s Shadow, V is of the Hanged Man arcana. He’s a Shadow that had gained sentience, similar to how Teddie of P4 gained his own. He had found a way to come into contact with Philemon, probably through Igor or the likes, and had formed his own contract with Philemon and Igor - to become an assistant of the Igor’s, and in exchange, allowing him to roam the human realm with his Shadow aspects kept under lock and key. (Similar, in a sense, to Marie.)
V serves as an external eye for Igor; while Igor and the main attendants assist the wild card from within the Velvet Room, V is the watcher on the human side, and only truly called upon by the Velvet Room when needed. He is an anomaly - an experiment, just as Teddie was; would a Shadow be able to form a heart - form his own shadow?
In the human world, V appears as a black haired male with green eyes, along with the multitude of tattoos that mark his bound state to the Velvet Room and Philemon. When he’s in Velvet Room attendant mode, he has his natural white hair, and his natural, shadow yellow eyes.
