Two projects are finished for FO Friday!
The top 2 rows are the “Baikal” shawl, another beautiful design by Susanna IC. The yarns I used were Madelinetosh Merino Light (”Baroque Violet” -- another now sadly discontinued colour) for the MC and Shibui Staccato (”Velvet”) for the CC. The top row (left) shows my unblocked shawl; (right) being blocked. As you can see, blocking nearly always makes a difference! The middle row shows different views of the shawl on “Jezebel,” as my sewing teacher affectionately named the mannequin.
The bottom row shows a long-overdue birthday present for a friend, another “Spectra” scarf, which seems to be a perennial Stephen West favorite. Since my friend is an Auburn alumnus, the chosen colours are predominantly blue and orange. The yarn for the MC again was Shibui Staccato (”Suit”), and the CC was an indie company called “Dyed in the Wool.” This particular skein was named “Snow Hero,” and was classified as “sport weight,” but it worked quite well with the sock-weight yarn!
