Susie's started to leave passiveaggressive post it notes around the house. She thought her brotherwas messy, but her new room mate is worse. He constantly leaves dirtydishes, saucepans, frying pans, and containers in the sink, andleaves the kitchen window open so the pigeons fly in. Susie wouldhappily throttle him, if she ever saw him.
That's the problem. Toto, as his nameis on lease, lives in his room, and only seems to come out when Susieisn't around. In fact, Susie hasn't even met him in the flesh once.He just lurks in his room like a little goblin, and causes Susieemotionally pain.
Enough is enough though. Susie hadwalked into the kitchen this morning to see an uncooked, out of datechicken sitting on the kitchen counter and leaking juices onto thefloor below. She'd screeched, backed out of the room as soon aspossible, and slammed the door behind her.
“Right!” She yelled, and stormedover to Toto's room, and hit the door with her fists. “Oi!”
There was silence.
“I know you're in there!” Shehammered on the door again. “Open up!”
There was a scuffling noise, and thenthe door opened a little bit. “What?”
“There is a fucking chicken in ourkitchen,” Susie hissed, “That is leaking mouldy chicken juiceonto the floor. I want it out of my sight this instant.”
A pause. The door opened fully andSusie opened her mouth to speak, and then shut it again. Toto isquite good looking, tall, with brown floppy hair that gets in hisface.
“I'll do it when I've finished my f1game.” He said, and Susie immediately forgot he was attractive, andfocussed more on screaming.
Susiecharges into detention late, mud covering her cheeks. She's grinning, backpack slung haphazardly over her shoulder, and Toto internallygroans because he's so in love with her.
“You'relate Stoddart.”Mr Lauda says, barely looking up from his newspaper.
“Sorry,I had a game.” Susie replies, throwing herself into the seat nextto Toto. “We won!”
“Congratulations.”Lauda says in a completely monotone voice, and goes back to reading.
Totolooks over at Susie, who grins at him. She rubs her cheek, smearingthe mud everywhere. “What are you doing here?”She asks, and propsher feet up on the desk.
“Isaid I had a period to get out of swimming.” Toto replies, andSusie snorts.
“Youidiot.” She says, and laughs. “I didn't hand in my Englishhomework for a month.”
“Oh.”Toto says, and Susie looks around.
“Arewe the only people here? Apart from fried egg over there?” She nodstowards Mr Lauda who is glaring at the newspaper now.
“Yeah.”Toto says, and Susie reaches underneath her shirt.
“Guessyou guys won't mind if I take off my sports bra then.” She says, and Toto feels himself go firetruck red.
Prompt - Toto is still getting abuse from Mercedes about being gay and Susie feels bad for her wife. She decides to cheer her up with a romantic getaway.
“We’re going away.” Susie says, popping her head around Toto’soffice door. Toto jumps about a foot in the air, because she wasn’texpecting her wife to come out of nowhere, and also because she’s inthe middle of secret Mercedes business.
“Are we?” She asks, because this wasn’t written on their jointcalendar that Toto fills in religiously. “I don’t remember thisbeing mentioned before?”
“It wasn’t.” Susie says, and steps further into Toto’s office.“But you need to get away from Mercedes, it’s not good for you.”
“The team needs me!” Toto protests, and Susie folds her arms.
“The team call you rude names behind your back and think you’rea stuck up frigid lesbian. We’re going on a romantic getaway, andthat’s that.”
Toto wrinkles her nose at her, and then sighs. “Fine.” Shesays, “But it better have contact with the outside world!”
A ‘Romantic Getaway’ according to Susie is a little cottage inWales with no internet connection and a bad tv line. Toto is dying atthe thought of being away from work for so long, but she doesn’texactly mind, not with Susie being so enthusiastic about the wholething and being far too excited for long walks in the valleys.
Their first night involves fish and chips for tea because Totocouldn’t be bothered to cook, and Susie wanted to see what thevillage was like, and they eat it outside the shop, talking loudlyand ignoring the stares. Susie’s head ends up on Toto’s shoulder, andToto can’t help but grin, because this is the best day of her life, not counting her wedding.
“Thank you for doing this for me.” She tells Susie, and Susiesmiles, sitting upright to plant a salty kiss on Toto’s cheek.
“You’re welcome!” She replies, and steals one of Toto’s chips.Toto has never been more in love.
Hi. I have a prompt and I wasn't really sure who to ask to fill it, but I adore your work so much. Susie and Toto are married but Toto notices a strange turn in his wife. He comes home from a race to find her in bed with Carmen. It's then that Susie has to admit she's a lesbian and doesn't love him anymore. She loves Carmen. To her surprise Toto supports her. Thanks x
Toto will always support Susie. He’s supported her throughretirements, and miscarriages, and fights with her parents that lefther sobbing on the bed, and him awkwardly petting her hair. He’llsupport her through this too, as she sits on their living room sofa,Carmen beside her in Toto’s dressing gown.
“You’re not angry?” Susie says for the seventh time, and Totoshakes his head. He’s made all three of them tea, and is sittingopposite her in his favourite armchair. Carmen is staring at thecarpet, her long hair covering her face, but Toto can see that shehas a lovebite on her shoulder.
“I’m not angry.” He promises, and Susie stares at him.
“I’m cheating on you.” She says slowly, as if Toto hasn’tworked it out himself. “With another woman.”
“I know.” Toto says, and he’s not lying. He’s not angry, hecould never be angry with Susie. He loves her, and he still loves hernow, and he just wants to see her happy. If that means with anotherwoman, so be it.
“You’re not one of those creepy men who get off on this, areyou?” Carmen asks, finally looking Toto dead in the eye, and Totoshivers at the way she glares.
“I’m not.” He says, “I can assure you.”
“Good.” Carmen says, and sits back, relaxing. “So where dowe go from here?”
Toto turns to Susie, who bites her lip. “You don’t have to gopublic.” He tells her, “You can keep it secret.”
“I can still live here?” Susie asks, and Toto nods. “AndCarmen can stay with me?”
“If she wants to.” Toto replies, and they both look at Carmenwho raises her eyebrows.
“Of course I’m going to stay with you.” She says to Susie.“I’m not leaving you either.”
Susie smiles at that, reaching out and taking hold of Carmen’shand. “Thank you.” She says, and then turns her attention back toToto. “We can still be friends, right?”
“Of course.” Toto replies, because Susie is his best friend inthe whole world, dating or not. “I wouldn’t want anything else.”
Could you write a fic where Susie refuses to speak to Toto for a whole day because Austria made it into the Euros and Scotland didn't and he teases her about it. Susie sulks all day with a saltire wrapped around her and Toto realises he's really annoyed her x
Ahhh, I’m really sorry but I don’t write SusieToto! This is a really good prompt though, maybe one of the other writers could fill it??
Why the fuck did I write this?? Who knows?? Lesbians
“Dyke.”
Toto turns sharply, but she can't work out who said it, the Mercedes engineers suddenly turning away from staring at her, going back to their jobs. Toto's new wedding band stings on her finger, and she instantly goes to rub at the metal, which is cold to the touch.
It's stupid, but she never expected this. She thought that the team would see her as they always did, tall strong Toto, who took absolutely no shit, and made them win. She thought that they wouldn't care even, wouldn't care that Toto is in love with another woman, and on the weekend, married her.
“How do you think Williams will react?” Toto asks Susie on their honeymoon. They practically eloped, telling nobody but their parents that they were getting married, and found the first country that they could that allowed gay marriage. Their honeymoon is in Scotland, rainy, cold, hopelessly romantic, and Toto has never seen Susie so happy.
“I don't think they'll care.” Susie replies, stretching out in bed. Her feet are cold against Toto's, and all Toto wants to do is kiss them and warm them up. “I mean, it'll probably affect if I ever get a drive or not, but I don't care.”
“You honestly don't?” Toto asks, because driving is Susie's dream, and it hurts Toto to think that she'll never achieve it.
“You're worth more than any Formula 1 place.” Susie replies, cupping Toto's face between her palms. “I swear it.”
Toto smiles at that, leaning in to kiss her, and Susie kisses back sweetly, before pulling Toto back against the bed.
In the real world, Toto has locked herself inside her office, pacing back and forth. She's angry and upset all at once, practically seething with it, because how dare people insult her for who she loves. It's not fair, but then again, Formula 1 is never fair.
There's a knock at the door, and Toto curtly answers. “Come in, whoever you are.”
“It's me.” Paddy pushes the door open and leans against it. “You're a sight for sore eyes.”
Toto rolls her eyes at that, running a hand through her short cropped hair. “What do you want?”
“The engineers said you stormed off earlier.” Paddy replies, “That you were throwing a hissy fit.”
Toto snorts at that, “They called me a dyke and I walked away, I hardly think that's throwing a hissy fit.” She notes that she's made her voice slightly deeper as she talks, a little habit she's gained when she wants people to take notice of her.
Paddy sighs heavily, “It was just a joke Toto. It's just friendly banter.”
“I know banter, and I know an insult when I hear it.” Toto replies icily. “I may have married a girl, but that doesn't mean that anything's changed around here. My sexual identity doesn't mean anything, we're still Mercedes, and we're still winner of the Constructor's Championship.”
“The engineers think-”
“Listen.” Toto interrupts, “I like girls, okay? And I'm married to one, a very pretty one at that. But that doesn't mean I'm still not the old annoying, bitchy, grumpy Toto, who only wants one thing, and that's to win.” She gives Paddy a steely glare. “Got it.”
“Yes Ma'am.” Paddy salutes, “Shall I relay that to the engineers?”
“Please.” Toto replies, “I have more important work to do.”
Susie makes them dinner that night, a proper roast, with all the trimmings. She displays it on the dining table with a flourish, a huge smile on her face, and Toto smiles back.
“This looks lovely, thank you.”
Susie sighs at that. “Come on Toto! I expected more praise than that, I just cooked us something amazing.” She points at the chicken. “Look at it! It's all crispy and everything!”
“You're a dork.” Toto tells her, and then sighs. “Sorry, work is playing on my mind.”
“What happened?” Susie asks, frowning and piling up Toto's plate with food. “Do I need to fight anyone?”
Toto snorts at that, even though she knows it's true. Susie could probably take Jos Verstappen in a fight and win, she's small but incredibly powerful. That applies to the bedroom too, with Toto almost always ending up with bruises on her hips and thighs from when Susie is incredibly enthusiastic.
“Nah, it's just some people in Mercedes. Don't worry about it, honestly.” Toto assures her, and Susie adds more roast potatoes to Toto's plate.
“I do worry though. That's the whole point of being a wife, I have to worry all the time.” Susie replies. “Have I given you too many potatoes by the way?”
Toto looks down at her plate which is practically covered in them. “Is it possible to die from roast potato overdose?”
Susie laughs at that, scraping some of them off. “But seriously though. What have they been saying, should I be worried?”
“They called me a dyke.” Toto replies, and Susie winces at it. “Sorry.”
“It's okay.” Susie looks down at her plate, as if it's done something wrong. “That's horrid though, why would someone call you that?”
“Because I am one?” Toto says, and Susie gives her a look. “Sorry, sorry. I just meant, I'm a massive lesbian.”
“Well I know that.” Susie teases, “Have you complained?”
“Nah, I didn't see the point.” Toto shrugs, poking at the vegetables on her plate. “I mean, it's just a word. I've had worse.”
“I know.” Susie leans across the table and takes Toto's hand in hers. “I'm sorry you had to hear it.”
“Thank you.” Toto replies, and pulls Susie's hand up to her mouth to kiss it. “I love you wife.”
Susie laughs at that, “I love you too wife.” She replies, and leans across to kiss her.
