Hi. I have a prompt and I wasn't really sure who to ask to fill it, but I adore your work so much. Susie and Toto are married but Toto notices a strange turn in his wife. He comes home from a race to find her in bed with Carmen. It's then that Susie has to admit she's a lesbian and doesn't love him anymore. She loves Carmen. To her surprise Toto supports her. Thanks x
Toto will always support Susie. He’s supported her throughretirements, and miscarriages, and fights with her parents that lefther sobbing on the bed, and him awkwardly petting her hair. He’llsupport her through this too, as she sits on their living room sofa,Carmen beside her in Toto’s dressing gown.
“You’re not angry?” Susie says for the seventh time, and Totoshakes his head. He’s made all three of them tea, and is sittingopposite her in his favourite armchair. Carmen is staring at thecarpet, her long hair covering her face, but Toto can see that shehas a lovebite on her shoulder.
“I’m not angry.” He promises, and Susie stares at him.
“I’m cheating on you.” She says slowly, as if Toto hasn’tworked it out himself. “With another woman.”
“I know.” Toto says, and he’s not lying. He’s not angry, hecould never be angry with Susie. He loves her, and he still loves hernow, and he just wants to see her happy. If that means with anotherwoman, so be it.
“You’re not one of those creepy men who get off on this, areyou?” Carmen asks, finally looking Toto dead in the eye, and Totoshivers at the way she glares.
“I’m not.” He says, “I can assure you.”
“Good.” Carmen says, and sits back, relaxing. “So where dowe go from here?”
Toto turns to Susie, who bites her lip. “You don’t have to gopublic.” He tells her, “You can keep it secret.”
“I can still live here?” Susie asks, and Toto nods. “AndCarmen can stay with me?”
“If she wants to.” Toto replies, and they both look at Carmenwho raises her eyebrows.
“Of course I’m going to stay with you.” She says to Susie.“I’m not leaving you either.”
Susie smiles at that, reaching out and taking hold of Carmen’shand. “Thank you.” She says, and then turns her attention back toToto. “We can still be friends, right?”
“Of course.” Toto replies, because Susie is his best friend inthe whole world, dating or not. “I wouldn’t want anything else.”
