No comment, it's very obvious....
My Nublar6 Queer hcs are so funny to me cause its like, how did they manage to get 6 queer kids on this island who are all varying levels of what the fuck is gay.
You have Darius, who's probably at the beginning of his queer journey, he knows what queerness is, his parents taught him and his brother is openly bi, but he's not sure how it pertains to himself and quite frankly he's got bigger things to deal with (bigger scalier things with teeth), so he'll figure that all out later. Once he's off the island he does start to question things fully, talks to Brand about how he knew he was bi (and ultimatley gets hit with the very older brother answer of "Dude if you have to ask you're probably bi, it's like if you take an am I gay quiz." Which makes Darius sweat because he has infact taken an am i gay quiz). The bisexuality is the easy part, he thinks both guys and girls are pretty, he can see himself with both of them, kind of. Here comes the aromantic part of it all. He knows he's ATTRACTED to both guys and girls, but he can't get a hold on what love is, he loves all his friends, some in different ways, but any time he sees the portrayal of romance he cannot imagine doing any of that with someone. The i love you's, the kissing, the hand holding, the way they describe romantic love, none of it makes sense to him, why would he treat a "lover" any different than he treats his best friends? That one causes the most confusion (as we see in CT), but once he does come to terms with it, it makes relationships so much easier. He doesn't have to have a boyfriend/girlfriend. He's allowed to love his friends, and if he does have a certain someone that makes him feel that little bit of difference, qprs exist! As long as him and the person are on the same terms, he's happy. He also realizes a lot of his "feelings" for other's were caused by the societal push to be in a romantic relationship, as well as being surrounded by people who were in relationships, he doesn't need that for himself though, and that's ok.
Then there's Kenji, who only knows the names of things because he looked them up, Daniel didn't teach him shit, he probably had a lesbian housekeeper at some point and was like "I'll give you $100 if you help me figure this out." And the poor women was like I'm not charging you to help you figure out your sexuality what the fuck. Once he found out that him always feeling like a boy stuck in a girls body had a name and a solution, he nonstop begged Daniel because it'a not like they DON'T have the money for a therapist and all that, and while Daniel isn't the biggest fan, he probably just caved to the transition cause it would get Kenji to shut up :/. He doesn't tell any of the camp fam til he's off the island and living with the Bowmans amd he literally has to come to Darius highkey freaking out because he's afraid they'll make him stop his transition and Ms.Bowman is like oh my god no ??? As for his bisexuality that was a simple case of going oh okay both men and women are hot, hey more for me then, then proceeded to be majorly bitchless (Kenji I'm so sorry.)
Then there's Sammy, who's pretty open about being trans and liking girls, her family is very accepting of her and never made her fear talking to people about it so while she's not going around camp going "hey guys did you know I'm transgender" she def has a few pride pins and has never been against telling people when they ask or when it's necessary to a conversation. Def goes to lgbt youth groups to meet new people and talk to baby gays about how they can accept themselves, also def goes to lgbt run soup kitchens to help out.
Then there's Yaz, who isn't in an unaccepting family by any means, they just don't really talk about it enough for her to have come to the conclusion that she likes girls til she met Sammy. She's not a huge fan of outright telling people her sexuality, but she also won't hold back talking about her girlfriend Sammy, once you meet Yaz you will KNOW she likes girls by the end of a convo because she WILL bring up Sammy whether it pertains to the convo or not. She also realizes she likes she/they pronouns, and while she doesn't feel a need to really transition in any way, whenever asked about pronouns, she will say she uses she/they.
And then there's Brooklynn, the girl with two gay dads, her transition def went over relatively smoothly, but she did have to keep up this stealth girly girl image for her online persona, she's a 13 year old on the internet in 2015 so her dads are definitely afraid if she was openly trans online there'd be problems with transphobia sk she has to keep it hush hush :(. She thinks she's just a bi trans girl up until a little after she leaves the island, in which not only does she start questioning that there's more to her gender, but also her sexuality (Once again, I'm so sorry Kenji). She realizes that she doesn't like kissing Kenji, not because he's kenji but because he's a boy, she hates when she can feel a little stubble against her chin because it serves as a reminder she is kissing a man and it kinda makes her sick. She kinda realizes she's a lesbian in the last year or two of her relationship with Kenji but the idea of breaking it off with him and hurting him because she couldn't just "do the math" earlier also makes her sick so she just- deals with the nauseating feeling in the pit of her stomach when she has to say she loves him. After she does come to terms with being a lesbian though, she looks more into the gender stuff, she watches a LOT of videos about how gender has to do with being butch, and at first she does have that fear of like— am I a real transfem if I like the idea of still being masculine? Which causes its own issues unforch. Eventually she comes to terms with being not only butch, but nonbinary in a genderfuckery sort of "I refer to myself as a woman, and if I had to choose a binary to label myself as it would be more female leaning, however I like all pronouns and presenting in a masculine/androgynous fashion" way. She really is the blue hair and pronouns girl.
And then lastly you have Ben, who is the most closeted fucker you'll ever meet but, unfortunately for him, also the most clockable. He's stealth when he's on the island, refuses to take off his binder unless he knows for a fact no ones around to see (luckily he got on puberty blockers before any sort of development could really set in, but he still feels more comfortable binding than not, for the little bit of breast tissue that did develop before he could start his medical transition). His mother is accepting, but his father was anything but and for that reason he absolutely cannot let anyone know he's not "normal". He does find himself more on the island, and being surrounded by other queer people (whether they tell him or not) helps but still, it's not until he's about to get top surgery a couple years later that he's like "haha yeah guys I'm trans surprise !!!" And ofc they're all super accepting and proud of him. The gayness causes issues. He's always been afraid that he HAS to be the perfect man in order to really transition, that he HAS to be as normal as possible, he has to like girls, hate makeup, and act a certain way, but in the end that all goes against who he really is. He doesn't like girls, not like that at least (he is a feminist I promise), any time he thinks of himself in a relationship in the future it's with a man and he hates it, not in the "thats not what I want" way but in the "I'm not normal" way, he's tried on his mom's makeup a couple times and liked how it looked and felt but at the same time, men don't wear makeup, so he convinces himself he hates it. So much of his late teens into his early 20s is spent masking who he is, pretending he likes girls, trying to convince himself he's something he's not because he's so terrified of being "a straight girl with extra steps". He gets with Gia not only to help her hide she's a lesbian, but to also see if being in a "relationship" with a woman will convince him he's into girls, but nope, in fact it acts as a stark reminder that he doesn't. He hates kissing her, he hates faking that he's attracted to her to try and prove himself to other guys, he loves her as a friend but nothing more. It's only after CT that he's able to come out, what nearly dying will do to a man amirite, he's scared but he's even more terrified of the idea of dying while the people he loves only know a fake version of himself. Now lets be real, everyone knew this already but they weren't going to tell him that, so they just accept him with open arms and so much love.
They're also all poly, none of them understand why they would limit themselves to loving one person when they have the ability to love another equally as long as their partners consent.

can someone fill me in on why someone at dc decided that it was a good idea to shoot a canon bi character on the FIRST day after pride month? they saw 'gay bitch gets his ass SHOT' on the calendar and went 'no this doesn't seem like something potentially controversial to do'
