A character can be the most unlikeable vermin to ever walk the planet but if they make me laugh out loud they are redeemed in my eyes

I truly don't want to be this person but svidrigailov was definitely my favorite character in the whole book. the way he appeared there to show how similar he was to rodya, how he could possibly end up HE OPENED HIS EYES. svidrigailov was such a horrible person yet so beautifully written

Extremely not normal about the part where Svidrigailov says the only options for Rodya are Siberia or a bullet in the head, and Svidrigailov himself chooses the bullet, leaving only Siberia and redemption for Rodya
