Y/N couldn't help but smile mischievously as they saw Joshua leave his phone unattended on the coffee table. it had become a little game between them, stealing Joshua's phone and changing his wallpaper to something embarrassing or silly. like, an embarrassing childhood photos of Joshua or his stolen photo from Y/N where he's picking his nose or just unintentionally making a very silly face. and the Joshua will get back at them by changing his phone wallpaper in the most hideous photo of them.

but this time, as Y/N picked up the device, their heart skipped a beat. instead of Joshua's phone being filled with your silly photos, Joshua's phone wallpaper was a sweet and affectionate picture of the two of them.

Y/N stared at the image with a mix of surprise and tenderness. the memory flooded back from that day - their first date together at a charming little café downtown. Y/N's mind drifted to how nervous they were during that time, unsure if their feelings were reciprocated. but that picture proved all doubts wrong.

with conflicted emotions swirling inside, Y/N hesitated. they knew how much effort it took Joshua to select such an intimate photo for his wallpaper and edit it despite his poor ability in editing and only using his favorite picsart or canva for editing. changing it would not only betray their secret game but also risk hurting Joshua's feelings.

just as Y/N was about to put the phone back down untouched, Joshua walked into the room, wearing a warm smile. "caught you red-handed," he teased, noticing his phone in Y/N's hand.

Y/N looked up at him sheepishly but couldn't help smiling back. "i was going to change your wallpaper," they admitted honestly, unable to hide their admiration for the sweet image displayed on-screen.

"you're annoying, how am I suppose to change that?"

Joshua chuckled softly and wrapped his arms around Y/N's waist. "i don't mind if you do it," he whispered, planting a gentle kiss on their forehead. "i quite like seeing our happiness every time i unlock my phone.-"

"but it's more on you're now the loser since you don't have the heart to change it, do you?" Y/N smacked Joshua's chest as he laughed at Y/N's reaction.

suddenly, changing wallpapers seemed insignificant compared to the deep bond they shared. As they nestled into Joshua's embrace, Y/N realized that sometimes even harmless games can be meant for something more beautiful - like reminding each other of the love they shared every day.

but still, Y/N still have a plan of changing the wallpaper, from their cute photos together, to Joshua's drunk crying photo.
