The fact that you’re right and it’s canon Obi is the one who could’ve prevented Vader. Palpatine says that as long as Obi is around Anakin will never turn and he waits for Obi-Wan to be off world to finally manipulate Anakin. They’re insane for that

anon it makes me lose it. the narrative places of padme and obiwan here are soooooo opposed. padme is essentially the driving force (& excuse) of vader, and obiwan is LITERALLY the ONLY ONE standing btw anakin and vader, btw palps and anakin, btw padme and anakin (funny enough), and btw the galaxy plunging into darkness or not.

like anakin's dark side completely cools at the merest word from obi-wan???

4. what headcanon will you defend to the death?

mandalorians are space jews. they just have SUCH jewish energy. in particular they remind me a lot of the late second temple period/the roman occupation, where internal political divisions were so sharply exacerbated by the pressures of colonization that it devolved into violent civil conflict. the teaching of the talmud is even that the destruction of the second temple was due to "ceaseless hatred" between jews, which i can totally see mandalorians using as the explanation for the glassing of mandalore

i already answered 17, but i'll share my favorite opening parable from TCW, from "voyage of temptation":

6. Do you have any ships?

I absolutely love Kanera, Hanleia, and Blyla.

10. Which character do you feel is most like you?

Luke at the beginning of A New Hope, when he feels a bit stuck in life and wants more and sits in his room playing with starship models😂😂😂

12. Which character would you be friends with?

Oh, SO MANY CHARACTERS! Definitely Ahsoka, Rex, Fives, Poe, Finn, Rey, Ezra, Sabine, Cal, Leia, and Din(+Grogu), just to name a few. Also, if Maul wasn't feeling particularly murderous that day, we could definitely have a drink and talk about a few things.

17. How were you introduced?

I had seen the first 6 movies in various stages of completeness throughout my life, but I was never really into Star Wars until 2019, when I watched the Mandalorian. I really enjoyed it and decided to give the movies another chance. I watched them and LOVED them, so I decided to try the animated series and then I got sucked into fandom through Clone Wars fanfiction.

"#this obsession with Accuracy is fun and all but when it comes to the appearance of characters who were played by real actors#it's just creepy and weird" i've wondered about that and maybe they intend their audience to suspend disbelief and pretend that these new shows were made at the same time as the original series? thinking about how janky and puppet-like they made the grogu cgi, like something from the 1980s workshop

They're definitely trying to do that - create a seamless continuity with the OT and completely immerse the viewer into the illusion. But while the old school / analog vibe of the special effects works wonderfully with Grogu (and creatures / set design in general), they're doing the opposite with Luke, and no matter how state-of-the-art the CGI is, the result is uncanny (other than vaguely morbid and unethical, because it's not an inanimate prop that they're trying to replicate accurately, it's the younger self of a real, still living and breathing person. That might be tolerable if Old!Luke were the main character, and Young!Luke just existed in flashbacks with a valid purpose or something. But Mark Hamill as he looks now is useless to them, yet they're going to any lengths trying to replicate every pore and hair of his 30-something self, because that's the Luke that sells, huh?)

the irony is that in doing so they've written themselves in a corner because this technique can be sustainable for short scenes but certainly not for an entire movie or 10-episodes show, and now that the fans got a taste of accurate-looking OT-era Luke Skywalker, it's even more unlikely that they will be okay with a recast. Yet recasting is the only viable option to create a new story organically developed around Luke and with Luke as protagonist. You need a spontaneous, nuanced, real performance by a real actor who can move and act freely, not an agonizing CGI process for every single frame Luke is in, that still looks goofy and uncanny when you look a little closer.

10. Which character do you feel is most like you?

Might be a bit of a basic answer but I think Ahsoka. She is loyal but if her trust is broken or her principles threatened, she is strong enough to do what's right, even if it's painful to her. She's also skeptical of dogma, has a great sense of humour and can be a bit awkward sometimes. Just like me hehehe

14. If you could change one thing about the Star Wars universe, what would it be?

Make the clones' inhibitor chip fail so that order 66 doesn't happen, the jedi survive and Obi Wan doesn't go into exile ❤️🥺

Obi Wan and Ventress definitely had hate sex at some point. I will die on this hill.

Hmmm, this is hard to answer. Probably Reath Silas, a Jedi Padawan from the High Republic book Into The Dark. He just wants to stay home, and study history. No adventures for him, no thank you. He's basically the Star Wars equivalent of Bilbo Baggins. He's so SWEET.

#14: If you could change one thing about the Star Wars universe, what would it be?

*sighs* it's a three-way tie. In-universe, I'd want Kanan Jarrus to not be dead. Externally, I'd want anyone to be able to write a canon Star Wars novel so you, @kanerallels , could write a book series about how the Ghost crew all met up. And somewhere in between? More Legends being brought back into canon. Specifically Talon Karrde, Shada D'ukal, Ghent, Aves, Tycho Celchu, Corran Horn, all of Wraith Squadron, and MOST of all, Mara Jade.

#29: Which character doesn't get enough credit or screentime?

You expect me to choose just one??? It's ME. Riyo Chuchi, I would LOVE to see more of. Fenn Rau, one hundred percent is the coolest and should be in The Mandalorian. Janus Kasmir, who could be an AWESOME cameo in LITERALLY ANYTHING DAVE I'M BEGGING YOU!!!!! PLEASSSSSSSSE. Oooooh, and Leox Gyasi, from Into The Dark. CRIMINALLY underrated. As is his navigator, Geode. Oh, and, again, all of Wraith Squadron, they are the best.
