My town is kinda boring but I guess I'd show them the CASTLE!!! What a flex . A scotts flex.
“A small crumbling fortress nestled on a dormant volcanic plug that has been in a state of renovation for years and only seems to open for the annual march of bored and morally obligated high school students who are trying to raise money for charity but really are just being herded by teachers looking for an excuse to get teenagers out for the day instead of driving all of the staff to drink” was a little bit too long to fit into a tag, yeah
Amber and butter! 🧈
amber- talk about one of your fondest memories
OOH I LOVE this question!! Here is one from my childhood: I had a friend called Lucy when I was around twelve or thirteen, and I became friends with her because she lived near our family friend's house. We came to his neighbourhood to have lunch every Sunday, so for some time, I was able to play with her on Sunday afternoons. I don't know exactly how we met, or how we became close, but I remember being happy with her.
One day, she decided to bring me her Secret Hideout: this little corner between two townhouses, where there was a small hidden playground. You had to go through a narrow alley and a gate to get to it. She said it was Secret, and that no one else knew where it was, so it became Our Secret. We played there every Sunday, and I never told a soul where our secret world was. On Sundays, Lucy would come to our family friend's door, and I would go out to play with her. We would go in the playground and watch the roly-poly bugs and run around playing pretend. It was magical in the way that secrets shared between two friends are magical, and I just LOVED going there with her.
Our family friend moved back home one day, so our Sunday lunches came to an end. I never saw Lucy again--I don't think we ever properly said goodbye. A long while later when I was fifteen or so, I was in the neighbourhood, and I went down the same path and alley she showed me. Just to see if it was still there--or if I'd imagined the whole thing. The gate was still there, and the playground, too, but somehow it had lost its magic. The Secret had been precious because it was Her Secret, too, and she wasn't there anymore. Lucy had moved away, and I'd already begun to forget what she looked like and how her voice sounded. That sounds like a sad memory, but it is one of my fondest--it was one of the few times that I shared something with someone that felt like a lifting of the veil, as a writer once said (I can't remember who. Probably Tolkien or Andrew Peterson). And it was one of the first times I understood that you only have some people in your life for a short amount of time, but that after your time is over, you will always have a special place in your heart for them.
butter- do you like to cook or bake? what’s a signature dish that your friends and family know you for, or one that you just find yourself making often?
I answered this one earlier, so I will tell you about one signature dish that my friends and family DON'T know me for: cookies. I've been trying to bake cookies since 2015 and I have not once (not EVER) been successful. Many recipes and methods later, the end result always, always, ALWAYS remains the same. The taste and texture of a freshly excavated rock. It's awful. This is a minor thorn in my flesh. I love chewy cookies, I love soft cookies. My cookies are an abomination and I am Majorly Upset over my consistent failure.
what are, if any, your favorite writing tunes?
it depends! Sometimes I choose one song and listen to it over and over again and other times I go to youtube and just let some playlist play
my all time favorite writing song tho is “False Confidence” by Noah Kahan, idk why, it just reminds me to take it easy as I go lol
🐖 🎁 ?? Thanks :)
🐷 Junk food you can never get enough of Hot cheetos! They’re my absolute favorite and I used to eat them almost every day, but I’m trying to be healthier so I only save them for special occasions. And in true Asian fashion I eat them with chopsticks lol :)
🎁 Best gift you ever received and why The most beloved gift I’ve received is a stuffed animal horse my aunt bought for me when I was four years old. I named him Peanutbutter (yes, one word because I didn’t know how to spell properly back then). Peanutbutter has been with me through everything. He’s super well-loved and worn now, but I still sleep with him every night. Some of my friends have told me that I’m too old to still love a stuffed animal as much as I do, but I don’t care. Here’s a picture of him (he’s so worn that he has bald patches everywhere and his mane is completely gone):

Maize, spice, and flannel? Thanks, these are cute!
I know, they’re such cute questions right? Okay, prepare for some long answers because I have some great stories for you!
maize - share the weirdest encounter you’ve had with a stranger on the street. Okay so this wasn’t on the street, but one time back when I was working at a boba cafe this random guy came in and was literally dripping with sweat. He came up to the counter and told me, “Some guy just tried to shiv me!” I started to panic and I asked him if he wanted me to call the cops but he refused. My coworker was taking out the trash at the time so I was the only one in the store and I was super scared. The guy looked pretty sketchy and I didn’t know what to do. He asked for the code to our bathroom so I gave it to him. That might not have been the smartest thing to do, but I just wanted to get him away from me until my coworker came back. My coworker came back a few minutes later while the guy was still in the bathroom so I filled him in on what happened. Then another sketchy guy came in, got some water from our self-serve thingy, and sat down without ordering anything. Then the first guy came out of the bathroom and sat down with the second guy and started talking really loudly. I swear they were both on something. We were about to tell them to order something or else they would have to leave, but they got up and left before we could say anything. I still have no idea what that was all about.
spice - have you ever encountered a house that you believed to be haunted? This is a short answer: Nope!
flannel - have you ever gone on a bad date? [WARNING: MENTION OF PUKE] God, I’ve gone on so many bad dates! One of the worst ones I’ve been on was a second date I had with this one guy last year. I got some weird vibes off of him from our first date together, but back then I had a hard time saying no, so when he asked me out on a second date I agreed. We went to a dive bar/restaurant kind of place and had food and drinks (which were delicious). On my first date with this guy he had said that he is used to drinking and isn’t a lightweight but he ended up getting drunk off of two shots of sake. For that reason, I was nervous about him drinking on the second date, but I didn’t say anything. He had two drinks and got exceedingly drunk to the point where I was embarrassed by his behavior in public. He had left his backpack in my apartment so he wouldn’t have to lug it to the bar/restaurant since we were walking (he was in college at the time). So we walked back to my apartment afterwards so he could grab his stuff. Once we got to my apartment he said he needed to use the bathroom and was in there for a while. I asked if he was okay and he didn’t say anything. He texted my phone saying he was fine but just wasn’t feeling well. After over an hour he finally came out and I discovered that he threw up all over my bathroom. Lots of it didn’t make it into the toilet. It was disgusting! He apologized over and over and begged for a second chance but I was over it. At least he left a twenty dollar bill which (somewhat) covered the cost of the things he destroyed with his puke.
