*For context this is Dreamswap*
Error sat on the edge of Outertale, looking down at his current knitting project. He liked to come here when he was stressed, sometimes, just for the ambience. The view of the stars around him was infinitely more gorgeous than the messy house he called ‘home’.
He thought he heard footsteps approaching, and he hoped if it was Blue he would have the decency to announce his presence. They'd talked here a few times, and they were getting more and more reacquainted with each other.
And since they started becoming friends again, Error had been more firm with his boundaries. No touching, and no sneaking up on him, for starters. Ever since he realized Blue was actually respecting them, he felt more comfortable knowing Blue was nearby.
It seemed Error's suspicions were confirmed as true, and he felt a smile creeping along his face. Blue came over to sit down next to him, and Error turned his body towards him just a bit so they could talk.
“Hey, Blue,” he said, still focusing on the knitting. He felt awkward whenever he looked up at Blue, because the face that had so long evoked fear in him now seemed so friendly. So he mostly acknowledged his presence through speaking, since it meant he didn't have to look up into his cyan eyes.
“You working on something for the orphanage?” Blue asked, making casual conversation.
Error nodded slightly. “Yeah, I am.”
Blue nodded his head, turning his head around to look at all the stars. No matter how many times he looked, they still always seemed so gorgeous to him.
“That's great, what is it?”
Error held up a blue scarf, probably the hundredth one he had knitted in his lifetime. Considering he had at least three in his closet, plus a few lost somewhere, and all the ones he had made for the orphanage, he really did have a lot.
“You always did like blue,” Blue reminisced, seemingly unaware of Error's discomfort for a moment. Maybe it was an old habit of his, but Error only rolled with it.
“Yeah, I was inspired by you.”
Blue blinked, turning to look at Error with a genuine smile. Error caught sight of his eyes, before quickly looking away.
God, he thought, why are his eyes so pretty?!
Blue looked at his face more closely, before looking away. Must've been a trick of the light, hd supposed.
“Well, thanks,” Blue replied awkwardly, seemingly thrown off his game for once.
Error looked up, noticing a cyan blush beginning to form on Blue's cheeks. Huh, that was odd.
“Not a problem,” Error replied, feeling his own cheeks burn up. He merely returned to his knitting again.
Neither of them talked the rest of the time, both just choosing to sit in awkward silence. It would've been better than any forced conversations they'd rather not have, anyway.
